Best veggie burger

Post by racewife »

I eat meat but I don't like burgers. Anybody have a good place for veggie burgers?
Or even a frozen brand. Thank you.

I'm not a veggie burger kinda guy, but I'm surrounded by people who are.

Here's what I've heard is good:
- Black Bean veggie burger patties from Costco.
- A&W's new veggie burger is really good.

I have sampled the veggie burger at Costco - I wasn't a fan of the texture or flavour.

I haven't tried the new A&W one.

I do recall there was one made by Money's - out of mushrooms, and that was pretty good (though it has been a few years).
I haven't failed until I quit.

I second the A&W one. I love my burgers and this was genuinely really good for fast food. I can’t sit here and compare it to a great home style one, but for what it was I’d 100% have it again.

Costco's Black Bean burgers are pretty good...……...a different flavor than a conventional veggie burger. I melt swiss cheese on it, add mayo, red onion and lettuce. Bought 3 boxes when they were on sale a few weeks back. $16.99 regular price was $4 off.

This one is really tasty and was my vegetarian daughter's favourite one, although it has been about 4 years since we had this so the mix could have been changed since then.

Watch the labels though, those are very high in sodium.

^^^ anything that is processed will be high in sodium.

Just a reminder the overall daily recommended intake of sodium is 1,500mg.

I'm a carnivore, so veggie burgers don't appeal to me, but I do like trying them out of curiosity's sake. I know that I'm in the minority here, but the beyond meat burger is absolutely vile. The smell alone is appalling, the texture and flavour is nothing like meat and has a very synthetic smokey flavour to it. The first few bites are OK, but its the lingering after taste that is absolutely retched.

I’m a carnivore too but it is actually pretty funny how much plant based material people add to meat to make it taste good.
