Pre Made Pie Crust

Postby Bsuds » Sep 29th, 2018, 7:44 pm

My DW made an Apple Pie with 2 Tenderflake pre made pie crusts and they tasted like C**p!
Dry and pasty. A spoonful of flour would taste better.

On the bright side, you had no business eating pie anyway, Sudsy.

Like a vast many of baking items, from scratch is always best.... in today's world quick is wanted.

No sugar added to the apples and I would prefer a graham wafer crust anyway.
White flour raises my blood sugars way more than sugar does. So probably a good thing that I didn't eat much of the crust.

I guess you just wanted a piece of pie.

Now I'm going to get a slice of apple pie now.

Thanks Sudsy ... had a craving for pie so made a lemon meringue from scratch with graham cracker crust and mile high meringue.

Good thing I'm not all that fussy on Lemon meringue or I would be mad at you for telling me that.
