Travel during covid "times"

Post by fvkasm2x »

While Covid may or may still be a thing, depending on this "fourth wave"

I was curious if anyone has traveled out of country in the past couple months?

I was thinking about booking a trip to the States for October and November to watch some NFL football and a few other events, but I'm having a hard time finding accurate info. I've heard rumors that may or may not be true, because of a "friend's sister who went and..."

Have you traveled? What did you need to do? What did you experience?

Haven't travelled but am planning travel so been watching restrictions and rules.

Things to look for prior to travel:
- Some destinations require a health questionnaire to be filled out prior to boarding
- Some destinations require a PCR or antigen test. Check which is required and EXACTLY what is specified for the timing. IF it says "days", it means within 3 calendar days. If it says "hours", check if it means prior to boarding or expected arrival because if
- Vaccinated or not vaccinated can change the requirements. Some places if you can prove vaccination status mean you can skip testing requirements. Some might mean you skip a quarantine requirement.
- Airline pages seem to be up to speed on restrictions for destinations.

Insurance:
- Cancellation/interruption insurance isn't covering covid related conditions. However, some airlines are providing some basic insurance for a few causes. Read carefully.
- Some medical insurances have specific addons for covid coverage. Some are including covid with limits on unvaccinated.
- Most of the world is considered a level-3 travel advisory by Canada. Check if your insurance is allowing coverage under these conditions as most usually have an exclusion on advisories but are now providing coverage if its only a covid warning. Level-4 largely not included.

Return to Canada - To get the no-quarantine exemption:
- Pre-boarding PCR test required within 72 hour of 'direct' return flight back to Canada departure time (not antigen).
- Have a quarantine plan in case you are required to quarantine (explain how you can get groceries, where you can stay, etc)
- Vaccinated at least 14 days prior to day entering canada
- Proof of vaccination in ArriveCan app
- Bring proof of vaccination in hand to border
- You *may* get a random test on arrival. This recently changed from requiring to book a return test.

For US specific:

Key points appear to be
- PCR or antigen test within 3 calendar days
- For LAX, arrival form
- For hawaii specific lab partner and travel form to avoid quarantine
Health forum: Health, well-being, medicine, aging, digital currency enslavement, depopulation conspiracy.

If you want to discuss anything real, you're in the wrong place.

We've booked a house in Mexico for part of the winter, but haven't looked into any type of insurance yet. Neither is the flight booked yet.
The house is easily cancelled up to 30 days before we arrive.

Since there's about five months before we go, plenty of time to make changes.
I'm posting this from Traditional lands of the British Empire & the current Lands of The Dominion of Canada.
I also give thanks for this ethos richness bestowed on us via British Colonialism.

Good info, thanks.

We're double vaccinated so that alleviates some problems (hopefully)
