Cubano's, Croque Madame's and Francesinha's are the correct grilled cheese sandwiches.

Having said that, there's something nostalgically comforting about a simple grilled cheese with plain white bread, Kraft Singles and a bowl of Campbell's tomato soup.

ok, I bet a GC with stuffing would be grand on raisin bread
I knew someone who made them with Velveta, gag
I'll echo your gag and add a barf - I despise Velveeta 'cheese'.

I don’t know what Velveeta is... but it sure isn’t cheese. Same goes for cheez whiz

OK - aren't you fancy? "_
I think GC is comfort food because nearly every kid in North America grew up eating them. They are still oo menus

I like Cheez Whiz. Some places used to have the lil containers same as peanut butter, jam, etc. That's gone like the Dodo

Nothing wrong with Cheez Whiz - always a jar in the fridge. Great for adding a huge spoonful or two to a pot of mac 'n cheese (makes it creamier and you don't know it's in there unless told), plus it's good on ribs of celery. Oh, oh - for one of the creamiest homemade cheese sauces it's a combination of Cheez Whiz and your choice of cheddar cheese. Depending on which spices you use, the sauce goes with nachos, baked potatoes, veggie cheese sauce, etc.

Norma, can get the packets on Amazon.

Artichoke and Parm dip from Costco - think the brand is La Tera Fina or something like that.

You'll have to keep us updated on Tzatziki . . .

ok, I have seen that combo in other stores so will get some. I hate when people serve stuffed celery sticks and don't remove the " strings"
You know what might be good ? French toast grilled cheese sandwiches

And my sandwiches have to be done in the same poor old fry pan. On my favorite burner :/ We all have a favorite stove burner

Nostalgic? who you callin' "old"? We still do that. And yes, grew up on exactly that. Until one day mom came home and announced that she isn't buying white bread again. "It's bad for you." Took me years to buy white bread.
As WW3 develops, no one is going to be dissing the "preppers." What have you done?

yes, but I don't want the meat... only one place have I found them on the menu, ruined by using Brioche bread, and no red currant jelly
Queen - did she at least make them out of whole wheat then?
