Re: The Glitch Concert
Until they added the lanes to match absolutely. Driven around Kelowna lately? Tell me traffic has improved and I'll sell you another bridge to nowhere. Way to see the trees despite the forest. All it did was move the traffic problems. Much better now that they have 3 lanes both ways on Harvey. I have always said that extra lanes on the bridge mean NOTHING until you add extra lanes right through.Nebula wrote:Just as obvious to you as the new bridge would be a dismal failure?Cateyes wrote:It's quite obvious.

Ya I think.........if you were going to spend the ridiculous amounts of money they want for property in Whistler, I'm sure you would check it out AND if you have been watching OR paying attention, they make it very clear that Cypress is NOT Whistler........Cateyes wrote:Ya think. And do you think most people in the world know or care to make the distinction?Bubalouie wrote:The article is about Cypress, NOT Whistler...

If they had nude hooker snowboarding it would attract a larger audience too. So ratings is an indicator of a sports legitimacy now?Bubalouie wrote:Guess you also missed the part where the IOC begged to have snowboarding and those events included because it attracted a much larger younger audience...........

I gotta call BS on that one. Clearly they can find a better place to eat around there than McD. :trippyquoter:Bsuds wrote:If they consider the food at Mac's better then it must really be gross! :dyinglaughing:steelrules wrote:The Russians say the food is so bad at the olympic village they are having to eat at Mc Donalds!

I think there are some Russian/Ukranian places not to far away and I'm sure NHL players can afford it. Probably just a way to highlight their gripe. I know there are starting to be a lot of complaints of noise and what not in the village but this is the first I heard about food. That's really bad. Absolutely NO excuse for that.

Re: The Glitch Games
From SI.com, today (front page):
"VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) -- A surging crowd of Olympic partygoers caused a barricade to collapse during a free concert, leaving 19 people injured.
Nine people were taken to a hospital for further evaluation, none with serious injuries, Vancouver's City Manager Penny Ballem said in a statement Wednesday.
A section of barricade in front of the stage collapsed Tuesday night during a set by the Canadian band Alexisonfire at Vancouver's David Lam Park. The band stopped playing immediately and asked the crowd to step back, Ballem said. The rest of the concert at Live City Yaletown and a fireworks display were called off.
The city said the barricade will be replaced and the site will reopen Wednesday.
"We sincerely regret that individuals were injured," Ballem said. "The city is gratified that the response was quick and professional, and relieved that the injuries are not serious.""
Another "glitch" the world sees. I guess there have never been concerts in Vancouver before-cause obviously this was unavoidable too.
