I hope one day you'll realize you're the one "drinking the Koolaid".
LOL. Even if that is true, my kids and grandkids will one day thank me for it Unknown... I have experienced the various forms of Koolaid over many decades, and I know what works over the long haul and what doesn't. Trading short term gain for long term pain is never the answer.

Funny that the voice selected to represent ALL CANADIANS in HIS words that was showcased internationally - that at the time i heard a lot of pride and respect for Shane from his fellow countrymen - is suddenly a *bleep* with no political value.....hmm (ps - perhaps you should ask Shane his feelings on the olympic spending? - i didn't realize that only people in support of the spending were allowed to participate or watch the olympics......)
Mr. koyczan's name was on the map long before the olympics came around, if you happened to know anything about shane and his accomplishments. He was put on the map for you and every other armchair spectator by one of the most widely viewed televised events in the world - where he spoke of YOUR country and articulated a sense of pride that most canadians would be unable to express but was mutually revelled in.
And now - because he speaks up against Harper, he becomes " the village idiot"?clearly you have a very balanced unbiased opinion that appears to be coming off as a personal attack on someone you are lacking weapons against....
I love how "deeply" you have analyzed a "poem" to find the things he missed (??? like there were prerequesites?) or glossed over...... how about the parts where HE HIT THE NAIL ON THE HEAD (you seem to be glossing over those points)
As I said, I don’t have an issue with “Shane” or anyone else “speaking out” about Harper, but at least do it in a semi-intelligent manner and not like an uninformed idiot. It is a fact that Layton and Iggy demanded spending increases in “Harper” Government budgets as a condition for coalition support….if your buddy “Shane” really has a problem with “increased spending” then he should rightfully share the blame where it belongs. Likewise some of the “excessive” spending pertained to an event that he prospered from. Once again I note some selectively in how he does not criticize excessive spending (and let’s face facts no matter HOW you cut it he Olympics are all about massive spending) when he is involved in an event but others are apparently all good in his books. I just cannot let the self serving nature of his criticism go unchallenged. As I said initially in my comments I don’t doubt his poetic prowess but clearly when it comes to politics he comes across as an uninformed idiot, hence why I suggested he stick with “poetry”

And I hope one day you'll realize the irony of what you posted.
