It's a scary day for Canada. We're going to get a facelift now, whether we like it or not. Because 40% of people wanted it, how horribly skewed our election system is.

Stephen Harper now declared by CBC as the leader of a majority Conservative Government in Canada with 40% of the popular vote (Liberals only 20%). 88 seats shifting from the Liberals and the Bloc to the Conservatives and the NDP.

Looks like Iganatieff is going down to solid defeat to the Conservatives in his own riding!. Goodby Iggy! Meanwhile Liberal Bob Rae feels he has won his riding, but the NDP challenger was hot on his tail. he acknowledges however that the Liberal Party has a lot of work to do to become of national significance for a long time.

And the Bloc literally wiped off the board with only 3 seats left.

Cons now at 166 seats.

Did anyone else here call a Conservative majority? Or was I the only one? :). It doesn't matter anyway, what matters is that this is a great night for Canada. Way to go everyone! Great job.
