My youtube links never come out embedded

What am I doing wrong? I copy and paste the url and also tried the lnki youtube provides when I click "share". It just shows up not embedded like this.

The link has a . "youtu.be" won't work. When I get them to embed I have to have to hit the "share" button on youtube to get the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DQ58noGoBm4 <---That will work. :)

It worked. but as mentioned, I've tried the share link but still no luck. I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

Youtube just gives the youtu.be link

Also, images don't embed. Like this one https://imgur.com/a/WoiGFT0

It just does this.

What I do is click on the link and hope I get the "youtube" and not the "youtu.be". There are some I have mess with for long time before I get the link I can embed.

I'm also looking at the other differences in the two links. If you're really dedicated...lol

We could always ask Troy if he could upgrade the link parser for the youtube tag to also work with the alternate youtu.be format. Not sure which version of phpBB this is currently running otherwise I'd submit a patch for it.

I'm not either, that's why I go through several links until I get one that works.
