Andre Blanleil
Who votes for this guy? And keeps voting for this guy? He has the worst attendance record, maybe EVER, of any councilor. He votes 'yes' to any development regardless of what is proposed and whether it's going to be beneficial or have a positive impact on our community and 'no' to absolutely everything else. He bullies anyone who views anything different than him. He obviously conducts zero research into anything or considers any varying opinions, as he clearly knows how he's going to vote every single time, regardless of what it is or whether the community is behind it or not. So again, who votes for this guy???
I've also read way too many uninformed comments on these forums and I just shake my head when people call anyone 'not right' bumps on the log, etc.- are you kidding? Blanleil may be the biggest bump on the log OF ALL TIME. It makes no sense to me.

The business community in Kelowna does. Plus the Fourchange group of course.
Blanleil runs a 2 week campaign as he knows he will be in.

The incumbents seem a little too cozy in their positions. They need a good boot in the rear out of city hall.

I disagree- for the most part, I like this latest council. The clean sweep has happened over the past 3 years ago since WE have voted in 5 new councillors. This is the change- and it's amazing in what had been a right-wing, only-development council that we now have varying voices on council for the first time in as long as I can remember. Blanleil infuriates me simply because he adds nothing to discussions and puts in close to zero time and effort into the job. Fine if you are right-wing, fine if you're pro-development (to me different than only-development), you have to add something and be able to support your position- and consider others views even if they're different than yours. And you should not vote the same on every single issue/proposal because many things put forward are not going to be beneficial to our community, particularly in the long run. Even the business community- I assume they are fairly educated and if residing in our community, would want all issues considered as well- not just those potentially beneficial for that one sector. So again, it makes no sense to me why anyone would vote for this man.

Re: Andre Blanleil
Blanleil represents the very worst example of the old Kelowna establishment. He has no interest in being a member of council other than to protect and influence things in favour of himself and his small-town associates. He doesn't even bother to campaign, believing that his seat on council is his by right.
The only way we are going to rid City Hall of his influence - and that of others who would move us back to 'the good old days' - is to get out and vote. This little clique are depending on our apathy to regain their hegemony over the city.
Don't let this happen: oppose Blanleil, Hobson, Graeme, Dehart, Gran and - most of all, Gray - when you vote.

interesting non endorsement. since you appear to know, or may know, what are their voting record on pro business issues? what evidence do you have to support your comment
protect and influence things in favour of himself and his small-town associates
btw, i am not in favor of councilors who blindly believe if business gets their way, all of kelowna benefits. I just want to get the discussion going with factual evidence...

Another park paver. His sense of entitlement is disgusting, so are his practices.
Get rid of this old boy.

Re: Andre Blanleil
I think we all agree that Blanleil and his cronies are not fit to be on council. The problem is that he has his 3,000 votes plus sewn up and this is enough to get him reelected. The only way to get rid of him is for a large turnout of people voting strategically for ABA.

Simon's Poll has been hacked and the original numbers taken down-not close to valid in any form now.
And who the heck is ABA??-let's put some names out there??
Councillors/Trustees?
