Wow! That is dripping sarcasm.

I was leaning towards Basran but now feel
he should move to Kelowna, and run NEXT time.

I presume he is currently paying taxes in WEST Kelowna, a separate municipality.

Is it too late for him to withdraw?

I am with you guys, a candidate who decides tax policy but never has to pay it is a councillor I want. A councillor who has to drive to another municpality to go to city hall is a politician I want.

A question for you. If you were hired by West Kelowna to make decisions in the best interest of its own residence, could you do your job if you didn't live there? I feel sorry for you if you can't.

With respect, I cannot believe those that thinks its ok. This leaves the door open for anyone, group, whatever to hijack the running of the city. Not that it will happen, at least not yet. Imo a candidate for Mayor or Council should live in that city they like to represent. They deal with our taxes, decisions, you name it. Seems to me very logical.

Well, "anyone, group, whatever" can rent a small place in Kelowna to show residency.

With respect, some people form their opinions based on facts and research, and can see past sensationalist headlines and imaginary lines.

75% of people oppose candidates from other cities running for their city council? What are people insane? We need a representative council, sure it may represent West Kelowna or Vancouver, but its representative.

If 75% of the population opposes outside candidates from running they won't get elected. Problem solved.

ETA: One of the prominent business owners in Williams Lake lives near here. Should he be ineligible from running for counsel because he doesn't technically live in Williams Lake? You'd have to be insane to say yes.
