Elizabeth Fehr has my vote!!

I have been watching all candidates and their posts since the beginning of the election run and trying to decide who to vote for. We absolutely need change on council as all are aware. While the candidate posters on Castanet here have been glued to their computers looking for spice, including me, a young woman knocked on my door by the name of Elizabeth Fehr. She was kind and courteous and handed me a flyer of hers. After reading it I asked her a few questions. A particular question I asked her was what she has done for the city to make me want to vote for her. Her response left me wanting to vote for her. She responded that she graduated age 18 and spent almost 7 years schooling so not much time to give back. She graduated with honors and to do so she spent a lot of spare time studying. So the only thing she had time for was to give a gift of food monthly to the community food bank. She graduated from mechanical engineering and was the only girl in the class. She is now a project manager and oversees millions of dollars in work. She stated that now she is comfortably set up in life and is ready and wanting to give back to the community. She states she is not a socialist or a capitalist. She stated that the old feuding is negative on society and we need each other to survive! She sees from both sides of the fence. This is true balance which I have yet to see from any candidate! The only balance I see are "YES MEN and WOMEN"- this is not true balance! I am sure I will have a few candidates rearing their heads over this one- but I think we all need to learn something from her. One candidate down and seven to go!

Thanks Joe. I too liked her when I spoke with her at the Habitat. I admit, she didn't come off as polished there, very nervous and shy, but capable no doubt. She also helps with the age bracket issue by having a younger councilor is never a bad thing. An engineer by training is a problem solver and therefore a good asset for a councilor.

Chris, it appears you have missed the dialogue in this topic. We DO WANT BALANCE and we DO NOT want YES MEN and WOMEN as is the group you have picked. Perhaps you should go back to the drawing board on your thinking as you have picked a majority of socialists only! This is the problem the current council has. You should just vote the current council back in if this is your thoughts- at least they are already up to speed with wasting taxpayer monies and taxpayers won't be dishing out more wasted funds bringing your group up to speed on the same dis-functions. Albeit- they are YES men and women for the most part so I guess it would come rather quickly for them. You should be looking at people that respect the taxpayers also. Besides Elizabeth Fehr- I also think Mark Thompson would be another good pick. These 2 appear to both have the brains, ability, balance, and are looking out for everyone by signing the Canadian taxpayers pledge. As Elizabeth stated- you need both socialists and capitalists to come together for the city to properly function. This is the current dis-function at city hall and we need to do better.
I guess I have now picked number 2 on my voting list! 2 down and maybe 6 more to go!

She forgot to put what she was running for on her signs...
And you don't need Capitalists and Socialists to come together, you need centrists.
