Thank you
Thank you for caring about our city, thank you for supporting me, thank you for voting and thank you for making a difference.
I ran for city council because I wanted to make Kelowna a better city, and I lost. I lost, but the city won. With one of the highest turnouts in recent memory, with great discussion of issues like affordable housing and economic development, with so many candidates working hard to get out the vote, I may have lost, but I am happy and grateful our city won.
In this election I worked hard to try to make this city better, I didn’t realize in doing so I would better myself. Reading city documents, doorknocking, and engaging the public, were not just ways to improve a city, they were ways to improve a person.
I thought this election was about making Kelowna a better city, but just as we must try to better ourselves regularly, so to must we try to better our city, not once every three years, but every day.
Today the election is over and as the signs are piled up in trucks, the brochures are recycled, and the new council enters city hall, we must not forget, that though this election was about bettering our city, it doesn’t end with a ballot, it begins with one.
Thank you Kelowna.

Well said, thank you for taking to time and energy to offer an alternative. I hope you continue to take an interest and are willing to put forward your ideas and views at public meetings, editorials, and in forums. Best wishes and thank you.

We can’t fight homelessness, hunger, or poverty, but we can fight climate change. The juxtaposition of the now and the future, food for thought.
