Re: Where is Dan Ashton?
A matter of perspective I would think, to me a fact is a fact and only violates neutrality when distorted to support one side of an argument over another. According to that letter, Mr. Bloomfield missed the mark by a pretty wide margin, I would think that clarification would be in order. Now perhaps the choice to deliver that clarification via a letter to the editor rather than giving Mr. Bloomfield the opportunity to address it himself (which may have even been done for all that I know) would have been a more diplomatic approach but neutrality and diplomacy are two different animals.Jamesie wrote:Great to see the city adminsitrator who is supposed to politically neutral wade in in to the election with a letter to the editor. That is just not right, she is sure pushing Ashton's case.

It was my mistake, I remembered the poll being a referendum, which was first announced and then it was changed to an opinion poll as the cost of a referendum was estimated to be $50,000 and an opinion poll as less, also council was advised that the city is not bound by an opinion poll. I clearly forgot it was changed to an opinion poll. When I met with the CAO in person on Tuesday she addressed the issue and said she was going to write a letter to the editor. In the course of any campaign there are mistakes made by candidates, some small, some large as Rick Perry will attest to.-fluffy- wrote:A matter of perspective I would think, to me a fact is a fact and only violates neutrality when distorted to support one side of an argument over another. I apologise for any concern that my mistake has caused.

Thanks for that Julius. I said in an earlier post that I thought it was just an honest mistake on your part and you were a stand up guy. You have verified both here. The only thing you could have done differently would be to ask the CAO to let you write the letter. Water under the bridge. You are a very good candidate and I won't be disappointed should you be successful.Julius Bloomfield wrote:It was my mistake, I remembered the poll being a referendum, which was first announced and then it was changed to an opinion poll as the cost of a referendum was estimated to be $50,000 and an opinion poll as less, also council was advised that the city is not bound by an opinion poll.
