Are all the geese dead? Where did they go?
And why does this question belong in the elections section?
It's because Dan Ashton, when asked what he thinks about the environment,
gave the most ridiculous type of politician's answer you can imagine,
saying the things he thinks he should say to make people think he likes
the environment, when in fact, they've killed all the geese because they didn't like
stepping on a little bit of goose *bleep*. And one more thing - are we stilll using pesticides
for cosmetic purposes at elementary schools here in Penticton? If we are still
using those pesticides, then Dan Ashton is full of crap with his 'I like the environment' answer in today's
Penticton Herald.
Let's have some honest answers by mayor candidates for a change. How difficult
could it be? Just say you don't give a *bleep* about the environment, Dan.

If you have to be persuaded reminded bullied pressured bribed incentivized, lied to, guilt tripped, coerced, socially shamed, censored, threatened, paid, punished and criminalized, to gain your compliance- the thing is no good

Really?
This is the issue you felt compelled to post about? I sure hope this election isn't coming down to deer, rats and missing geese.
And who are the 'they' you are referring to? Did you see D.A and the rest of council in the park shooting geese?

Council is a unit -- no one person can 'kill the geese' or 'use pesticides for cosmetic purposes'.
Thanks for the chuckle -- now back to our regularly scheduled programming...

DblDwn11 I have a suggestion for you and your buddy Twobits, though not sure who is who. Why don't you dig deep into your wallet and buy a print ad or two and maybe some radio and start promoting Dan Ashton for mayor. Your arrogance is incredible and incredibly similar to Twobits. I for one can't wait till this election is over so I don't have to read your continual support and defence of Dan Ashton. And hopefully once this election is over we won't have to hear or read anything further about Dan Ashton either. You two are really some kinda show. Get ready to turn off the lights cause the party is almost over!

Agree with you, totally, southy. Those twins are totally negative and add nothing to the forum; they (he) loves to cut down others opinions and those struggling to get by in this town. Must be nice to be a rich land baron. D.A.'s ship is fueling up now and the anchor will soon be raised for the one-way trip to Trout Creek. Change is in store and its going to be a breath of fresh air. After "Operation Clean Sweep" we will really see some Transparency in this City; its about time.

Edit to ad:(whatever the h_ll that means...twobits uses it a lot), twobits DID do some good here recently; he really stuck it to Michael Brydon and put him in his place re that Westbench water issue. Twobits really does know the numbers game; just doesn't have much people skills. But, I give credit where credit is due.

Thanks XT, I think??
I've been called worse.
Bit amused though that you acknowledge my "numbers" ability when you agree with me, but do not acknowledge when you don't. ie-economic incentive zones and the land sale. The analysis is always the same.
Edit to add is just a posting etiquette for when you go back into a post to add to or change something after posting so that people who may have read it already know that it has been changed. The site does it automatically if there has been a reply posted after submission, but not if there has not been a reply so thus the etiquette.
Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.

Dan Ashton has held the mayor's spot through a period of unprecedented economic difficulty, and not too badly in my opinion. There is a major movement going on to "clear the slate", placing blame on mayor and council for problems that are not restricted to Penticton any more than they are correctable by local government. This is pretty much like firing the coach for problems that go way beyond the team to encompass the whole league and is, in my opinion, a very narrow view of a very wide issue. I'm not telling anyone how to vote, there are a couple of decent choices out there this time around, I'm just saying that I'm a little tired of hearing how the current council is to blame for all the woes we as a country face at this particular moment in time.
Just because you've always done it that way doesn't mean it's not incredibly stupid.

I agree with Southy and most often do. D.A. HAS held the mayors spot through some tough times but his record of "Transparency" is dismal. He brags about that, yet has never walked the walk. We, the public aren't stupid; we can see "thru" that smokescreen; and we DO know the meaning of the word transparent. He can't be blamed for everything that has happened the past few years but there are a couple of other GREAT choices for mayor out there and public support is building for them. I would seriously be surprised if Dan didn't come in a distant third this election; then he is also automatically removed from the RDOS; a double whammy; some people will like that and others not. Its about choice. Now, how this topic ever changed from geese to mayors is odd..lol.

AS long as the vote doesn't split. I agree with you. I personally like what Julius has to say and he has the right background in marketing and seems to be very ethical and thoughtful in his platform. The right person for the times. I would also guess he likes wildlife.
