TPP Discussion

Post by hobbyguy »

The Trans Pacific Partnership TPP trade deal will, one way or the other, have a huge impact on Canada's future. It may yet fail as opposition to it is growing in the US.

6,000 pages of "deal" largely dictated by the US and Japan, with only minor concessions to other countries is the impression that sticks in my mind. Other opinions of the TPP I am reading are not very flattering. Example:

Add to that the fact that during the recent campaign, Harper was promising billions in compensation to the dairy and automotive sectors.

This potential deal probably has more ramifications for the average Canadian than anything else that is facing our new government. I post this topic so that we can share information on this proposed agreement so that we can be more informed.
The middle path - everything in moderation, and everything in its time and order.
