The numbers don't lie Bob. It is looking sad for UN vaccinated. ............................................................. ......... With the latest Omicron variant coming it might be a case of letting nature take it`s course for the anti-vaxers as long as they simply die at home and don`t fill up the hospitals.. So be it..
Those are pretty arrogant statements. CDC states on their website 80% of all covid I see you and Gus are people overweight and obesity. Are you saying that for one year before a vaccine was manufactured that those people should have just stayed home and died? No expectations, no self-awareness, no self Drive, no government support, just sit around and wait for a vaccine and then it becomes your Messiah?. Right now the largest percent of people dying are still the obese and elderly. The obese are heavy viral load carriers. Should they be forced to stay home even though they've been vaccinated and still are the most vulnerable? Do you not see how pathetic it sounds when one can only preach they're manufactured synthetic drug as their savior after sitting around watching people die for the first year of covid questions mark. Now another variant that your vaccine doesn't protect much against, and still not a single Focus, discussion by many, including government, and we will continue to see people died? Great way to protect yourself and your children. This isn't about true protection for you and your family is it? Show me that a unvaxed young healthy person is more vulnerable than a vaxxed obese person.
In the u.s. almost 70% of their population is overweight or obese, so no surprise that they are also a large percentage of those hospitalized or dying. But this rate can be vastly improved by getting vaccinated, this is great news. AND the obese connection does not fit for those over 70-80 years old, which are the majority most at risk.
So when we have unvaccinated younger people (those in 40.s, 50,s, 60.s) ending up in hospital, that means they thought they were fine without the vaccine, but they were sadly very wrong. Why didn't they just get the vaccine? Could it be because of all the misinformation and lies out there propagated by the Anti-vaxxers? They did not need to end up in hospital. So if you want to keep most all of those who were hospitalized, out of hospital, you should be encouraging them to get the vaccine. People can have underlying conditions and not even know it, people with early diabetes, may not even be overweight, but would be at increased risk. So just get the vaccine, and encourage others to get it too.
More than half of Asians in the u.s. with diabetes are undiagnosed, and not necessarily obese.
https://www.nih.gov/news-events/news-re ... ndiagnosed
" Asian Americans often develop type 2 diabetes at a lower body mass index (BMI). The NHANES data showed the average BMI for all Asian Americans surveyed was under 25. "

Isn’t the 70-80 yr old group more susceptible to dying of every cause?

According to the bleeding hearts the old people aren’t allowed to die
The majority of the deaths happen in people over 70 years old

Yes, but with respect to Covid their risk is greater besides that. Their overall death rates are higher, they are dying sooner, than before Covid. People are definitely allowed to die, but most 70-80 year olds consider those senior years to be quite precious and can enjoy them if they don't have to die of covid. My dad lived to be 94, lived independently till he was 91, he wasn't ready to die at 80.

So let them die of "everything", they don't need to die prematurely from covid. and this would be a huge burden on their caregivers, as we have seen. Covid is not a "natural" death, and can usually be prevented with a vaccine. There is no reason why people cannot live well into their late 80's or 90's with proper care.
In the u.s. ethnicity has a bearing on Covid and survival:(it's not just an old person's disease)
" Age-standardized data show that Hispanic, Black, and AIAN people are at least twice as likely to die from COVID-19 as their White counterparts and that Hispanic and AIAN people are at nearly two times greater risk of COVID-19 infection than White people. These data also show large disparities in COVID-19 hospitalizations for AIAN, Black, and Hispanic people. CDC does not report these data for NHOPI people. Adjusting by age is important because risk of infection, hospitalization, and death varies by age and age distribution differs by racial and ethnic group. If the age is not accounted for, racial and ethnic disparities can be underestimated or overestimated."

Isreal links blood sugar levels to Covid, even in non-diabetics. (10% of us. population is diagnosed diabetic , make up 40% of Covid deaths, so this is far more significant than the overweight/covid death link)

As long as JT does his due diligence (might be a big stretch) and keeps all travel shut down from the area's infected with Omi here in Canada and especially here in BC, we will still be okay. With 88% doubled up, and the youngin's now getting their juice C19 is very close to becoming a yearly flu strain. Here's hoping masks are optional (should be already) by years end!! :smt045

Regardless how the forum doctors here are spoon fed statistics and studies, they'll continue their denial, uterring inane responses like "are mayor, bon bon, poison, and my crack recipe".

so there are many ways that doctors can calculate a person's likelihood of dying, given their health conditions, at some given age. Not everyone with diabetes, or a heart condition is doomed to die at age 70,75, or 80. Given the right health advice, sometimes medications or whatever, they might live much longer. How did my dad survive to age 94? He was an ex-smoker, had heart failure and chronic leukemia, a touch of diabetes, and lung cancer. If he had been alive and caught covid at age 78, he would probably have died from it. But since he didn't, he lived independently into his nineties, and even survived pneumonia in his nineties, and died of natural causes at age 94. so if someone can live five or so years longer, by virtue of having a vaccination (or vaccinations for various illnesses), then why not? Even tho diabetics for instance are at higher risk for dying from covid, if they are well managed, and take care of themselves, and get the vaccine, they greatly increase their chances of NOT dying prematurely.
People have mentioned a median life expectancey of say 80 years old. But that is only the median, that means some people make it to 60 or 65, and some make it to 85, or 90, or beyond. So why give up years to covid unnecessarily? If a person is 50 or 55, why should they take the risk of dying of covid? Get the vaccine, and have a far better chance of surviving it.
