Re: Bkr:Hundreds of thousands of healthcare workers fired for refusing the vaccine
It is an aging building that needs updates. I don't think there is the money in long-term care that there used to be. The facility could be made into a nice, profitable private surgical clinic. No more waiting in pain for 3 years for a new hip or knee if you have some money.Lore wrote: ↑Oct 21st, 2021, 6:39 amExactly what I was thinking.normaM wrote: ↑Oct 21st, 2021, 6:16 am The article also said the number of residents has been declining over the years.
"Westbank First Nation, noting the declining number of member-residents at the facility in recent years, said prior consultations with members had raised questions about if Pine Acres was still meeting their needs."
Makes you wonder what was going on that the community would opt not to go there even pre Covid
Sounds like they wanted to close even before the vaccine mandate and
the employee who mentioned that staff were not getting vaccinated is
just trying to imply that is why they are closing.
I bet the person implying that did not want to be vaxed.
It's possible to do all the right things and still get a bad result.

How so?
4% is not enough to shut down the system.
https://bc.ctvnews.ca/more-than-5-500-b ... 55The 5,512 workers from hospitals and other health-care settings who remain unvaccinated – and who represent four percent of the 129,924 employees facing the expanded mandate – have until Oct. 26 to get their first dose to avoid facing the same consequences.
"Essentially what we're seeing with the 96 per cent mark is a very similar number to what we saw in assisted living and in long-term care," Dix noted.

I'm wondering how many of these people simply haven't had their vaccination status confirmed. My status wasn't confirmed until yesterday when my boss finally asked to see my vaccine card and I actually received my first dose last year.PoplarSoul wrote: ↑Oct 21st, 2021, 8:22 pm How so?

Re: Bkr:Hundreds of thousands of healthcare workers fired for refusing the vaccine
Southwest Airlines had announced they would put unvaccinated employees on unpaid leave. The employees sued them in a class action lawsuit, and staged walkouts, and threatened to leave en mass. Southwest Airlines caved and rescinded the policy.
See, its that simple. If you don't like authoritarian policies, just fight them. They are easy to fight. The mando-vaxxers pushing them are cowards, that's why they need big daddy government to make vaccine passports and restrict people's rights for them. That's why they whine for 4 booster shots and a mask, for a virus with a 99.8% survival rate.

1) There was no "walkout".jcdenton wrote: ↑Oct 22nd, 2021, 8:36 am Southwest Airlines had announced they would put unvaccinated employees on unpaid leave. 2) No one is threatening to leave "en mass".
3) The lawsuit has more to do with working conditions than anything and has been an ongoing issue before.
4) SW has not rescinded anything, they amended the policy by allowing unvaccinated to have their cases reviewed past the previous deadline and employees who refuse to get vaccinated will have their exemptions reviewed case by case to determine what action will be taken in regards to their employment.

1) Yes there was. The airline had a mass disruption last week, thousands of flights cancelled due to staff shortages from the walkout.OKkayak wrote: ↑Oct 22nd, 2021, 8:56 am 1) There was no "walkout".

2) Yes they are
3) The lawsuit is related to the vaccine mandate.
4) They did a complete 180, going from saying they plan to fire unvaccinated employees, to now saying they won't be fired.

SW confirms there was no walkout.
FAA confirms there was no walkout.
Union confirms there was no walkout.
Tucker Carlson says there was a walkout.
So because Tucker says so, there must have been a walkout
![:haha: [icon_lol2.gif]](./images/smilies/icon_lol2.gif)
No, they aren't.
How can a lawsuit filed before a vaccine mandate be related to a vaccine mandate? Magic?
No, they amended the cut off day.
LOL, you really need to do your own research instead of following the script given to you by your Cult False Prophets.

Re: Bkr:Hundreds of thousands of healthcare workers fired for refusing the vaccine
DALLAS — Southwest Airlines will let unvaccinated employees keep working past early December instead of putting them on unpaid leave if they apply for an exemption on medical or religious grounds.
Federal contractors — including major U.S. airlines – face a Dec. 8 deadline to require employees to get vaccinated against COVID-19.
Southwest spokeswoman Brandy King said Tuesday that employees must submit proof that they got the shots, or file a request for an exemption from vaccination, by Nov. 24. Employees whose requests have not been processed or approved by Dec. 8 will be allowed to keep working, she said.
The company backtracked from a previous position that employees who had not been vaccinated or received an exemption would be put on unpaid leave.
"While we intend to grant all valid requests for accommodations, in the event a request is not granted, the company will provide adequate time for an employee to become fully vaccinated while continuing to work and adhering to safety protocols," King said.

Re: Bkr:Hundreds of thousands of healthcare workers fired for refusing the vaccine
The employees themselves confirmed there was a walkout. SWA tried to hide their incompetence by blaming bad weather for the mass cancellations. The FAA even confirmed that the weather was excellent.
I don't know how much more evidence you need:How can a lawsuit filed before a vaccine mandate be related to a vaccine mandate? Magic?
"Southwest Air Pilots Seek to Block Covid Vaccination Mandate..
The new vaccine mandate unlawfully imposes new conditions of employment and the new policy threatens termination of any pilot not fully vaccinated by December 8, 2021.."

There is no longer a cut off day. The policy is no longer in effect. They aren't getting rid of unvaccinated employees. Could this change in the future? Maybe, but as of now, direct quote from the management: "Initially, we communicated that these Employees would be put on unpaid leave and that is no longer the case"No, they amended the cut off day.

It past the time the Chief justices of Canadian Supreme Court step up and do their job, tell the citizens of Canada if actions of both the Federal & Provincial governments is or is not Constitutional.
I don't give a damn whether people/posters like me or dislike me, I'm not on earth to win any popularity contests.

https://www.cnbc.com/2021/10/19/southwe ... tions.htmlSouthwest Airlines and American Airlines are among the carriers that are federal contractors and subject to a Biden administration requirement that their employees are vaccinated against Covid-19 by Dec. 8 unless they are exempt for medical or religious reasons.
