"A mod"? There's only one, and doing double duty as mod and administrator, which makes it tough to catch every faux pas.

Clearly you don't see the OP as a pot stirring instigator like most do, hence the remark regarding laughter.

BTW telling the truth does not make one rude, it simply makes them honest.

ferri is everywhere lol.
Hundreds of similar topics but what the heck, what's one more? We know flu can be deadly so why not avail ourselves of vaccines proven to help. We know exercise is good for you but what if you can't through no fault of your own? We know good eating is beneficial but there are those that eat well, exercise and still get sick. The topic heading is dead wrong.

Exercise and fitness is no guarantee a person can't or won't get sick. That idea is ridiculous. In fact, intense exercise produces free radicals that can actually break down the immune system. People who are really into exercise and fitness know this.

I would have chosen the term, "Omnipotent".

Just like Q on star trek, she has the power and ability to "END" any one of you or me.

Yes, and regular laughter is especially important if you engage in high intensity or endurance exercise.

After all, you don't want to get sick.

Free radicals have been linked with a number of diseases and with aging. Exercise, because it requires increased oxygen consumption, also increases the production of free radicals. Mitochondria (the “power plants” of cells) are believed to be one of the main sources of free radicals. Endurance sports use more oxygen, which sends more energy through your mitochondria. In theory, the higher your metabolic rate and energy needs, the more free radicals your mitochondria will produce.
This article reviews the role of free radicals in causing oxidative stress during exercise. High intensity exercise induces oxidative stress and although there is no evidence that this affects sporting performance in the short term, it may have longer term health consequences. The mechanisms of exercise-induced oxidative stress are not well understood. Mitochondria are sometimes considered to be the main source of free radicals, but in vitro studies suggest they may play a more minor role than was first thought. There is a growing acceptance of the importance of haem proteins in inducing oxidative stress. The release of metmyoglobin from damaged muscle is known to cause renal failure in exercise rhabdomyolysis. Furthermore, levels of methaemoglobin increase during high intensity exercise, while levels of antioxidants, such as reduced glutathione, decrease. We suggest that the free-radical-mediated damage caused by the interaction of metmyoglobin and methaemoglobin with peroxides may be an important source of oxidative stress during exercise.

Chapman’s ice cream doesn’t melt. You can leave it on your counter for hours. That tells me all I need to know about Chapman’s ice cream.
