When people are completely vaccinated and keep their distance, what the authorities do with business is a communist country.Canada is a very bad country for doing business especially British Columbia.

Check out Costco on a weekend, mid day.
All those 300 pounders herding about huffing and puffing, while pouring sweat just
from the exertion of walking while leaning on a buggy.

And wearing masks or they wouldn’t get in.

Yet digging with their clammy hands through every package in sight till they find
just the right one they want to choose.

Zero, or near to no social distancing.
Even employees asking patrons to bunch up to make room for more/others.

At the very least they could do is have a counters at the door to limit capacity.
Nope, just cram 'em in, stack 'em, show me the money.

They have had laws for many decades limiting capacities at swimming pools, bars, pubs
and the like, in the name of safety.

Why not just do the same for every business? It somewhat at least puts a leveler field into play.

I'm going to ignore the anti science anti vax sentiments and move on to say these people were bullies in high school and are claiming they are staying open for mEnTaL hEaLtH. Plus that owner bullying a mann trying to do his job just proves this is about his $$$. Maybe downgrade your million dollar mansion you can survive a couple weeks staying closed. Operating without a business license and during a public health order is putting their members at risk.

Members here understand there are risks to life, and omicron is a very small one. Naturally immune as well so really not worried about any sort of colds/flus. Would be more of a risk to not be in top shape. Cheers to starting the year off right.

I completely agree that this is about mental health and certainly NOT about physical fitness. Please Dr. Henry, as our provincial health offer, I implore you to open up more mental health facilities for these people!!

Dr Henry could end this very quickly by showing the facts that support this and other closures. As a double vaxxed individual I did what was asked of me, without supporting the anti-vaxx conspiracy theories, I do think there are questions that need to be asked and I think as citizens we deserve to have some facts of why these decisions are made. Why doesn't she just show them the scientific data of why. The entire essence of a democracy is not to rebel, but indeed to question government officials on decisions that affect us. If she can provide this scientific data, the debate is over and the gym should close, if not, well then it raises other questions....how can you object to that?

I did see her take a question last week about why they targeted gyms and she said they were following data that covid was spreading more easily in them or something to that extent.

Everyone just listens to the government and just goes along with everything they say. They told us that if we get vaccinated we will be protected yet here we are, double vaxxed and still they are closing gyms and telling families they shouldn’t travel or have friends over. The lemmings just eat up the info and keep agreeing.

Eventually they will mandate boosters, but why?

You know what would be smart. Anyone who has had Covid only needs one vaccine. Or at least they get acknowledged that they have some sort of immunity because they’ve fought off the disease. If you’ve been tested that information is in your record. Yet the government is too stupid to implement something so obvious.

But if the point you're making is that Costco and other large stores should be shut down as well, I tend to agree. Clearly nowhere is safe right now.

Curbside pickup or delivery is the way to go.

And if you need exercise and the gym is closed, go for a walk. Or a run. Or buy a hula hoop.

Things changed. COVID is a moving target.

Vaccines are meant to protect people from dying. Are you saying they're not working to that effect?

There are also a lot of "information" sources that love to get people riled up about their rights, and thinking they're smarter than everyone else because they "did their research" in an echo chamber that tells them what they want to hear. Those sources have their lemmings too.
