Happiness is Tuesday, when I can shut 'er down.

Or - oh please say no - are you politico nut-jobs going to want it open for a bit longer for weepin' and wailin'?

You could shut it down now - its all repeat anyway. Continual regurgitation is where we're at. Kinda like binge vomiting ...

I would say shut it down as there is nothing new or worthwhile. My only worry would be that it will spill everywhere else like a really, really bad virus, even right after the election. Good Luck.
Consider how hard it is to change yourself and you'll understand what little chance you have of changing others.

Sure, once it's done, I think shutting it down is groovy.
We have other general political threads we can whine or gloat in.
The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it.

Shut it down early morning of the 15th, IMO it could shutdown right now. As some of previous posters have said its just same crap over & over.
I don't give a damn whether people/posters like me or dislike me, I'm not on earth to win any popularity contests.

Shut it down before the election? I think that would be too cruel, even for me. Tempting, though.

Just what I'd expect from a west wing fanatic. At least I'll get my smilies back.

I will, won't I?

We need at least 2 weeks of post mortem after the election to cover all the disputes, recounts, losers statements, winners statements, etc.

But the smilies could be done away with permantly. Between them, pictures, video's, long signatures etc they waste far too much screen space.

The post mortem commentaries could as easily be carried out in the regular regional threads, possibly.

I like the idea of a scrap bin for emoticons. Or we could rehome them. Anybody know of a emoticonless forum?

It would mean posters would need a vocabulary. Can we do that here? [/smartass]
