This reminds me of the time I was looking for a new look in the way of a lighter brown verging on blonde.....only to have my hair turn bright pumpkin orange! Apparently I didn't leave it in long enough but whoa, how embarassing.

I agree with gardengirl, best to seek professional help. I know when this happened to me I managed to find a place that specialized in colouring and colour corrections (mind you, this was in Vancouver). But perhaps there is a similar "specialist" here in town?? They knew just what to do to counteract the orange and it ended up looking great. Good luck!

Thanks for the tips! I tried the soap washing, no change. Luckily my wonderful husband was able to talk to a salon and they'll have a person come in for me to help fix it all up.

Only thing I'm worried about is now my hair feels so dry. I hope I don't have to chop it all off..

If you hear a wierd shrill in the air tomorrow at 10am..you know it's all coming off!

Update for those who are wondering.

I went a salon this morning and I got a great fix to my hair. Absolutely love it.

Lesson learnt.

Glad to hear your hair recovered from the experience...and sounds like you have too!!!
It's possible to do all the right things and still get a bad result.

I decided I was going to attempt to make my light brown hair medium. Bought a dye kit and away I went with the instructions. My hair is now the shade of black with some clumps of the old brown showing through.

Help! Anyone know a good place, person to see to fix this!????

Peteykat..so happy to hear that all is well again. :smt023

Secret for deep conditioning: put mayonaise in a dish, throw it in the nuker to get it warm, slather all of your hair, roots to ends, and cover with a plastic bag..hair only. :12077: Leave on for minimum of 1/2 hour. (I used to leave mine on for an hour) Super conditioned shiny hair! :123: :123:
