Going in tomorrow to get another tattoo done with cory, this one will be quite big on my left shoulder and down my arm.

It will be a tribute to my father who passed away a few years back.

I can't wait as i love the design we have come up with, it will be about a three and a half to four hour sitting.

I had a horrible experience with this shop in vernon ( genesis). Rob was very rude to me because I showed up at his shop without having a sketch done already. I would think it would be his shops responsibility to inform me of what I would need to do - not mine as I am not very experienced in getting tattoos. He did a less than satisfactory drawing which was reflected in my tattoo - he talked to other people while he was doing my tattoo this in itself is not a problem except he was not looking at my tattoo while he was doing it He badmouthed my tattoo a few times ( my family crest). Overall my tattoo is poorly done which other tattoo artists have said as well (ive tried to fix it a few times) he knows that the other tattoo shops in vernon are dumps so falls back on this instead of offering good service/great work - do yourself a favour and go to kelowna - I highly regret not saying anthing to him/paying him in full

I know the artist who trained Dustin at Five Fathoms, there's no way his shop would be a dump! Cleanliness above all else!
So I love the Okanagan but it's a place best enjoyed from atop a very large pile of $100 bills. - Spocky

Gnarbomb Tattoo and Piercing 1561 Ellis 778 478 9839
Check out Luke Lautard @ Gnarbomb... he was apprenticed by Dustin from Five Fathoms and was formerly from Temptation Tattoo. super clean artist with a professional bedside manner and 12 years experience.

this is also the only studio in Kelowna with a professionally trained body piercer, and the only studio that performs surface piercings, technical genital piercings, microdermals, and all the fun but crazy stuff.

Steve Clark(Owner/senior piercer) will soon be holding seminars with IHA on what to look for in a tattoo/piercing studio in order to educate health inspectors on the body modification industry.

Honestly, every person getting tattoos or piercings should be educated on how to be safe, comfortable, and happy with their body modifications... The consequences of getting cheap work can be tragic, ugly, or deadly.
always check portfolios, shop cleanliness, ask to see autoclave records, question your artist on their aseptic technique training, and how long their apprenticeship was, (a professional apprenticeship should generally last at least a year).
any well trained artist will be MORE than happy to rant for hours(if you let them) about bloodborne pathogens, aseptic technique, and every other nerdy fact they know about keeping your body mod experience as safe and comfortable as possible... and will answer all questions without attitude or judgement.
Be safe and educated about your body modifications... they're not just for pirates and prostitutes anymore.

I've gone to the The Dutchman in New Westminster.

Colors and lines still crisp and vivid years later.

He does a lot of celebrity work...

I'm looking for someone to do a portrait style tat. I heard there was a really good artist in Vernon, but can't remember the name or the shops name.

Troy at Freedom (in Vernon) is AMAZING!! He free handed a wolf on my back...it is beautiful!!! He is also very personable and perfessional....
