Great workout on Wii with "Gold's Gym Dance Workout"
Seriously... This game is great! It is a mixture of mini games (like on Wii Fit), salsa, rumba, cha cha cha, and many more Latin styles of dancing, plus cardio boxing. It is compatable with the Wii balance board, and it uses either one or two Wii remotes (2 to better track movements).
It also has some hit tunes of today, and some great classics.
There are a bunch of different workout modes:
- you can just pick a song/style and dance to it
- you can just pick a mini-game to do
-you can just pick cardio boxing to do
- you can have the personal trainer pick a workout for you that combines the use of all 3
- you can select workouts based on time/level/style
- you can break down the dance moves to really learn the steps... some steps are quite difficult, but you can practice in the tutorials.
It also tracks your progress (uses the Wii board to tell you your weight), has you check your heart rate and adapts program accordingly, and much more.
Anywho, I remember there being a thread on here about good Wii fitness games, and I really like this one. It is a decent price also...only 29.99

I bought mine at EB Games.
I am pretty sure the EB Games in Kelowna has stock left. I also saw it on amazon.ca when I was shopping around looking to see if I could find a better deal... Same price on amazon, but of course you don't get it right away ;)
Check out Youtube videos of people trying it out, and of the official demo...

I hope that you like it!

Forgot to mention... if you do purchase it, make sure you get the right one...
There are two that sound similar:
Gold Gym's Cardio Workout
Gold Gym's Dance Workout ( which is the one I have...although it is called "dance", it is still aimed towards burning calories, and having a great cardio workout)
The cardio one is cheaper, but it is vveerryyy different... The cardio one does not really appeal to me, as it is just boxing... However, as Garden Girl mentions, it is really good too!

I have the boxing one and I really like it.
I took a look at the demos on You Tube and I don't really get the point of the dance one.
I don't see why you would need the Wii at all. It just looks like a dance workout video.

That's good to know that the cardio one is good too!
I will have to give that one a try, thanks
As for the dance one, I quite enjoy it, and the Wii remotes are indeed needed, as the game has boxing, plus mini games where you use the remotes to hit/punch/dodge things... Also, when you dance, the remote is used to see if you are moving your arms properly.
To each their own though for sure! Don't you wish that you could download demos onto your Wii to try before you buy? One day maybe!

The cardio one is pretty much all boxing, but it definitely gets you moving.
I use 2 controllers instead of the nunchuk thing, it seems to work better and gives you more range of motion. It has some other stuff besides the boxing such as ab work, skipping and few other things, but I haven't used them much.
I got it at Eb games, but I see they have it on mark down at Wal Mart as well. It was $19.95.

Re: Great workout on Wii with "Gold's Gym Dance Workout"
Thanks for the info Garden Girl.
What other fitness games do you have (if any)?
I have the wii fit plus, which although isn't a heart pounding workout, is still fun and active!
I have My Fitness Coach... it was only 19.99 at Zellers, so I thought I would give it a try, and I really like it for the Yoga. It does not really use the controllers, and is thus probably closer to a workout video than a game...but I like the way that it is set up. It also has upper body, core, and lower body strength training.....
I find that between the fitness coach, the wii fit, and the dance one that I have, I never get bored, and always have variety in my workout
