What have you broken or injured

Post by Star Light »

Double compound Fracture of the left leg & dislocated right shoulder. Some one ran a red light, cops estimate the speed I was hit was around 90 mph. One month in hospital & one & a half years without the use of my left leg.

Fractured ribs. Hubby was working in northern Alberta, he was away for 2 months, on his return he hugged me so hard he fractured my ribs :dyinglaughing: .

Broken toe. Was trying to get our cat out of the blinds, went to put my knee on a stool that someone had moved, drove my toe into the floor, :ohmygod: that was painful.

This is all I can think of right now, I am still amazed at how a body can heal after such trama.

When I was in my teens, I got beat up quite severely. My right hand in two locations and 4 or 5 of my ribs. Ever since then, I don't like breaking anything!

I never broke anything, but I had a bad knee injury in grade 12 gym class back in '80. During the 10 min warm up exercises, the teacher had us pair up and do piggy back deep knee bends down to the floor and back up. Because I am very tall, I got the 6'2 jock as a partner. With him on my back, I started to bend towards the floor and half way down my knees went.......pop. I still shake my head to this day at the idiocy of that exercise. That was it for the rest of the school year as far as gym class went. Doctor said that I'd heal fine and would likely develop osteoarthritis later in life. Well, the arthritis hit me at around 34 yrs of age. Oh joy.

I've had plently of bumps and bruises but the worst was probably from a ski accident about a decade ago. Hit a mogul and biffed it, the skis didn't release and I ended up at the bottom of the hill with my feet criss-crossed behind my head. When I had landed (this is the kicker), I landed on just my left knee on a freaking rock (hooray for spring skiing huh?). That full impact only slightly cracked the knee cap but horrendously inflamed my ACL and crunched all the cartilage in the joint. Took many moons of physio and years of wearing a brace before it was feeling good but every once in awhile it still gives out on me.

Left ankle-1.Lunging horse, it flipped out and bolted past me wrapping rope around foot and breaking ankle 2. grooming horse, pulled back, spazzed, and kicked my ankle.

Right ankle-1stupid horse spooked at "ninja squirrel" and threw me off sideways, spun back around and landed on foot breaking ankle. (see additional below)

Left Tibia- went flying down set of stairs and used my leg as a surfboard.
Right Fibia- another stupid horse injury, fell off going over a jump and thought I could land on my feet. I failed.

Right hip- came off horse and landed funny on gravel road. chipped top of joint.

Toes on right foot- dislocated big toe, and fractured two beside it. that was gross.

Right arm- tripped over hydraulic lines and caught myself with my wrist/arm

Left arm- didn't let go of the steering wheel in a car accident and spun my arm where my arm does not go.

back-bucked off my own horse when, like an idiot, a pulled on the reins when i should have kicked him in the ribs. i landed on a frozen poo pile.

2005- Horse fell on icey hill and I caught him. Right ankle, 5 bones in right foot, dislocated/shredded knee, collarbone, and 4 ribs. (I have had two children with a combined weight of 19 pounds. ribs hurt worse!)

Note. i'm not so eager to ride/work with, strange horses anymore!

I fell out of an apple tree and dislocated my left shoulder.

In 2004 a car accident (a car got thrown into my car) and I hurt my back.

Sprained my left thumb, and, omigod, did that hurt. Wasn't able to do much of anything for a while.

Sprained my left thumb
Funny how a little bitty digit can make one so helpless - but it does.

sprains hurt longer and they take forever to heal. been lucky that way i guess. bones knit quick. thumbs suck. try opening a can of soup or turning a door handle. little things. but ya, it does make you feel helpless.

Left wrist

Nose 4 times

The back part of my patella (knee cap) busted off on the end of the ligament

Both shoulders

All knuckles and fingers

Several toes and miscellaneous foot bones

Multiple head "cracks" that involved stitches and/or glue to put back together

Not bones but I've lost count of stitches...8 different spots on my head

5 on my hands

2 on my back

At least 8 on my lower parts

Oh yeah, and the 4 for the vasectomy lol :dyinglaughing:

UFC? Or clutzy alcoholic? At least the ball snip proves to me that you're a real man. :dyinglaughing:

Street UFC, alcohol induced, hockey caused the knees, shoulders and teeth...oh yeah, I forgot to mention my capped mouthful of teeth...lol

The hand stitches involved being a chef. Several knife drives and one meat slicer.

The snip only proves I was responsible, not a man, for listening to the ex b...lol

Broken toes on multiple occasions (they seem to get in the way a lot).

Went through a ski rack on an inner tube one time: broken collarbone, concussion, broken tooth, almost bit my tounge off.

Dropped a frying pan of flaming oil (I was 15). Scars from hip to toes. Only 2nd degree burns though, I was lucky.
I haven't failed until I quit.
