We may be animals, but we really don't need to eat like pigs! (who, incidentally, do eat meat)

It's went out the window. No one knwos what's good and what's bad for them so how can they be expected to eat in moderation? If all you eat is cheerios and subway, given what the media tells you, you could think you eat very healthy, but you don't.

ETA. Or if they follow this ridiculously poor eating guide.

I read all your other arguments in favour of a vegan diet but your credibility went right out the window with this post. It negated anything even remotely intelligent in all your other ones.

What would you expect a two year old child to DO with that live bunny to support your argument? Kill it to eat it? Build a fire by rubbing two sticks together in order to cook it? Not even our knuckle-scraping-on-ground ancestors would have done that at two years old.

Sometimes the extremists are their own worst enemies.

Food pyramid or the plate ... it matters not. The only thing that will make a difference is balanced meals in smaller portions made with real food not processed and packaged and chemical laden.

Cut the fat, cut the sugars, cut the crap of extremism.

Not to mention how common it is for a toddler to sit in a garden and eat the worms without even thinking of eating the plants. Using a 2 year old for example of how people might eat doesn't work on any level really or we'd all be eating some very strange things.

Everything you need for healthy eating is away from the internal aisle of your grocery store, only go in those for baking goods & brown rice. (potato substitute for those with diabetes)

As well cleaning & toiletries supplies. Added for those who think they are being smart a**.

Actually, fat (the non-hydrogenated kinds) is back. It's necessary and it's packed with nutrients. And coconut oil -- long shunned for its cholesterol content -- is now being investigated as a treatment and possible cure for Alzheimer's, not to mention a long list of other benefits. http://www.coconutketones.com/whatifcure.pdf

Yup, the 2 big ones everyone needs to crop way back is sugars & sodium. Those 2 will take you down the path to either diabetes & hypertension, both are bad paths to be on.
