I'm sure you believe that but "seem" is the key word there. Probably obvious to most those that got the flu already had it when they received the shot. If they aren't being hospitalized then that is a good thing and it may be the shot prevented a hospital visit.

Re: It's heeereee – Flu season
In Australia, the flu season is winding down. Ogbonnaya Omenka, an associate professor and public health specialist at Butler University, says the number of confirmed flu cases there was the highest in history – more than 270,000, compared to almost 60,000 in 2018.
Cameron Kaiser, public health officer in Riverside County, California, called the death of a 4-year-old boy from Perris a tragic reminder of how deadly influenza can be.
“We should never forget that the flu still kills,” Kaiser said. “I always recommend people get their flu shots every year, but a death so early in the flu season suggests this year may be worse than usual."

Influenza and pneumonia are ranked among the top 10 leading causes of death in Canada.
Each year in Canada, it is estimated that influenza causes approximately:
12,200 hospitalizations
3,500 deaths
It's hard to comprehend why anyone thinks hospitalization is a good thing when there is a better option.

Clark notes that skipping the flu shot may not necessarily mean someone is anti-vaccine, often they could just be lazy. A flu shot can become quite personal: if you are too busy, get sick too often or just don’t think it will protect you, you are less likely to get the shot.
But a flu shot isn’t just about protecting yourself — Clark says it is even more beneficial to people in your life. Healthy people can fight off the flu within a week, but others don’t have the same privilege.
“You’re getting it for you pregnant co-worker, your grandmother that lives in a nursing home [or] your neighbour that is going through chemotherapy,” he said. “If they were exposed to the flu, they would have major complications.”

Waiting until a child dies (as happened in Guelph last year) to get your child the shot doesn't make sense when the alternative means a child doesn't die.

Poll: do you get the shot?
https://www.castanet.net/news/Poll/2673 ... hot#267328
Currently 44% say they don't get the shot, unbelievable. I suppose you are the same people that come to work sick and infect everyone else. Thanks a ton.

I don't get the shot and the odd time I get sick, its usually on my days off. Figures.
I also don't clean my hands with anti bacterial gel every 15 minutes.

Not a vaccine alarmist, I just don't bother. I don't see the need. If I get the flu, oh well.
I've had the shot a couple of times. Nothing bad happened. I don't seem to get the flu whether I've had the shot or not.

Sure, my whole family gets the shot ... haven't had the flu in years ... and it's not due to good living ...

How is it fake news when children are admitted to hospital? And die from flu complications? Why are you so against those trying to protect themselves and others? Why do you think it's okay to put those with compromised immune systems in harms way?

70% of seniors received the shot - good for them on taking precautions - no one wants to suffer in the hospital and how easy it is if a simple vaccine can prevent a visit.
