Don't forget to add the deaths from covid are also a drop in the bucket, compared to the total cases....

Which is referred to as a very low Case Fatality Ratio, it's why the vaccine is showing how well it works, people get their natural immunity without the downside of dying in the process. Far fewer deaths is a good thing. Getting a sniffle instead of being hospitalized is a good thing.

Strange how after all this time some people still don't understand about influenza. It hasn't gone away but there haven't been outbreaks. Let's hope it stays that way.

Aside from the many measures, distancing, masks, less travel, fewer large gatherings, sick kids and coworkers not allowed to attend, a record number of people got their flu shots. Many factors could be operating to greatly reduce flu tranmsissions.

The medical community is keeping on eye on it:
In week 10, a total of 17 influenza detections (17 influenza A and 0 influenza B) were reported.
Detections of influenza have increased in recent weeks; however, the overall number of weekly detections remain low.

No one is testing for the flu anymore. So how would we know how many people had the flu or not. Everyone has Covid and everything is about Covid lately for the past two years. And if you don't have Covid and your test is negative, it's just written off as a cold or flu. That's how it seems to be anyway.

Maybe there have been outbreaks but no one's really paying attention to that. Everyone's focused on big bad scary Covid outbreaks.

Yes, I saw your links to information provided by the Government of Canada. The Government of Canada is also part of the problem.
