Stroke. NO COVID VACCINE TALK PLEASE

Post by The_quiet_one »

More and more, people are having strokes these days.
Please keep and eye on your friends and family, and if you know anyone
suffering symptoms, call 911 right away. You only have a short time frame
(4 hours) from the onset of symptoms to get the clot buster drug. After that,
nothing can be done.

Hope this wasn’t started from personal experience. I haven’t seen the ads lately on strokes but thanks for bringing it up.

The risk factors include quite a few that can be reduced with a little work:

Overweight
Sedentary life
Binge Drinking
Diabetes
Smoking
High blood pressure
High cholesterol
Family history of stroke
Cardiovascular diseases

and of course age and sex is a factor

I'm old and celibate...would that cause it?

Thanks for posting this. I'd heard "FAST" but the "BE" was new. Good to know.

You never know when it can happen or to whom. And sadly, after that 4 hours, it’s pretty much over.

I'm so sorry to hear that. There's been a close family member of mine that suffered strokes as well and it's devastating the consequences. All one can hope for is pay attention to symptoms and hope one reacts fast enough.

This person is relatively lucky. It’s a small one, so damage is minimal. Time will see what comes back, if any. It’s probably permanent. They just want to prevent a bigger one from happening.

I’m so sorry you have suffered a friend or family member, as well. The bigger stroke are so devastating and tragic.

Hope they make sufficient recovery to resume a normal life. Good luck to them.
