Fire west of Peachland?

Post by matai »

Can see smoke billowing in the sky coming from the hills west of Peachland. Sun became orange earlier. Is it the fire from the coq or another one?

I dont think the fire on the Coq is what you are seeing, it is way over by Murray Lake and the old toll booth area. Can you take a pic?

I believe the ash falling in Glenrosa is from the Coq. fire & the smoke west of Peachland is the Jura fire.

...seriously - where do you get this from?...billowing smoke?...fire close to town??...listed on the map - which map? - the bc wildfire map shows no such fire close to Peachland...the closest reported fire is Jura and Apex - hardly close to town...unless you've discovered something no one else is aware of - some might call this fearmongering...
...eta: ah - you're likely looking at the fire previously noted at the Zipline center...that was from several days ago - still listed as "active" - but unaware of any significant activity...that's where this story came from:

P.s. your comment on the smoke is irrelevant. That was 3 hours ago.

If you click the round icon that's read (Peachland), you will see it's the fire from the other day.

Date of discovery: 00:00:00 07/13/2014
Suspected Cause: Person
Approximate Location: Peachland Zipline
Estimated Size: 0.15 HA
Fire Status: Active

...your map reference is 3 days old...the fact you "donut care" is troubling when you make posts on a forum dedicated to wildfire - without checking your facts...making unsubstantiated observations related to wildfires is not "irrelevant" in any manner whatsoever...

So which fire was it that made it rain ash in Glenrosa as well as Sonoma Pines?

Mt. Boucherie?

Peachland?
