We've all run into the type....the high functioning very subtle narcissistic manipulator. When someone is in with biochildren and has their lives intertwined deeply with the abuser that eventually gets to the victims friends etc and slowly character hacks the other person mentally and socially. No one is a one person indestructible army that can't be worn down emotionally -given enough time.
And another thing on this divorce lawyer topic....A lawyer is going in on behalf of their client to inflict as much emotional, financial etc damage they possibly can to the opponent. Hypothetically, if quiet one went further into mental aguish further than what she did and she committed suicide...My point- the lawyer had a part in killing her. Hmmm, I wonder why there are stories from time to time that a divorce lawyer gets wacked.

I tried. When they kept my kids from me, and my kids hated me. When the lawyer kept going and going and going trying to break me, I tried. Ended up in ICU for 5 days, then 3 weeks on the floor. None of the doctors could figure out why I didn’t die. They took my kids and took the only I cared about. It killed me.
It destroyed me. That’s why I hate lawyers

Betcha there could be a case for a class action against the gov't for not regulating the industry they are responsible for. They at the end of the day are responsible for your and many other peoples pain. Snakes do what snakes do when they aren't controlled.

And that old saying...'what doesn't kill you makes you stronger'...that's true for a lot of things in life- but not this. The damage caused by the gov't/ family law system is permanent.

I told him I was reporting him to the law society. He said go ahead. I’ll tell them you’re crazy and they won’t believe you.

Quiet one and anyone else that has been on the floor near death( the ones that succeeded don't apply to this comment) from the family law system that's regulated by gov't....I bet they have a case. (Maybe the children of the dead parent as well) If enough people that experienced something similar to what quietone experienced came forward with such a action....I wonder how that would go?

It's all about the almighty dollar. IF a lawyer can get the two of you battling, he / she wins! They are the ones making in excess of $200.00 a hour.

When I went through a divorce I stood nose to nor=se with her lawyer and told him he was nothing but a bottom feeder.
He told me I best put a sock in my mouth. I explained to him staring the little PLICK down, it's a free country and I am entitled to my opinion. He didn't like it.

You are correct, you would think a lawyer would take a oath, in which in the eyes of justice they would act in a manor which is fair and reasonable by fact of law. Nope, blood sucking leaches most divorce lawyers are!

Many times, that is exactly it. I eventually sacked my lawyer and she did the same. Worked out an amicable agreement and we both saved a ton of loot.
We never hated each other so it wasn't really difficult.
Brother is going through a separation and eventual divorce. She's all about the money so lawyers are involved. " What's yours is mine and what mine is more mine" seems to be her mantra right now but lawyers are setting her straight.

Now that they can no longer chase ambulances as a result of motor vehicle accidents, you might see the costs of divorce go up!

This will be their new cash cow.
