Welcome to the world of electronics and computers. Long gone are the days when you could fix anything on your car with a flat head screwdriver and a 9/16" wrench. Not much you can do about it. It does make you way more aware of where your keys are at all times though! Doesn't matter the make or model of the vehicle.. they're all going to run about the same. $130 is a great price actually.

You have to figure, the vehicle won't run without it (yes, I know there are ways around it) but it does take out the theft of convenience factor, so you do pay for some security.

Holy. That's insane.

Chipped Keys.

I used to own a rig that had a chipped key, no fob.

Lesson 1; never use open flame (or other heat sources) to heat the key in event
of frozen door locks.

It renders the key useless !

Luckily I learned this from someone else's misfortune

There are many different types of flat batteries. Take it to a battery place like the one in Capri Mall or National batteries on Banks rd. They will fix you up.

Or just Google the year/make/model and you'll have your answer within seconds as well as countless youtube videos on how to change it.

Yup but for anyone who is not comfortable doing it themselves most battery places will do it for you. (or should)

Hubby flushed his last remaining truck key down the gyms toilet (automatic flush) and by the end of the day to get a new key it was over $300.
