Thrift Stores open Sunday...help!

Post by Always Sunny »

So I asked not long ago about your favorite places to donate goods. Without really thinking ahead of time, I just realized that my plan was to donate all this stuff tomorrow, but I've yet to find a place in Kelowna open Sunday and I need to be fully out of my suite tomorrow night.

I have a fair bit of stuff to go so I can't just keep it in my car. I'd be so grateful if someone could direct me somewhere in Kelowna open tomorrow.

Thanks!

Dang, VV definitely isn't my first choice to donate to. I do have a friend nearby that offered to hold onto everything. Maybe that's a better bet. But at least I know something is open. Thanks!

I often clean things up and then forget to donate on a Saturday. In my case, I don't usually have a pile of stuff so I will leave it in the car until I can get to where I want to drop it.
I haven't failed until I quit.

To me all thrift stores have their merits and demerits.

VV is definitely getting expensive, hands down. For used goods, donated, why are they trying to squeeze every last dollar out of a used item? The up side to me is that they employ people on so many levels, unlike the stores where all the volunteers are unpaid. So I answered my own question about the money and pricing right?

Just for the record, VV has a half off everything in store tomorrow. 50% off sale.

So does the Women's Shelter Thrift store on Ellis Street. With few exceptions, everything is 50% off.

^^^Not everything in the store ... you can save 50%* off clothing, shoes, accessories, bed and bath.

*Excludes new merchandise (red tags), books, jewellery and items tagged housewares or furniture. Not valid with any other coupon or discount. Offer valid in Canadian Value Village stores only.

50% sale is usually 2 days - Sunday & Monday ... Sunday is members only and Monday is for everybody.

Yup, you're right.

And also, the Women's Shelter Thrift store does not take half off anything on their discount rack which is now a dollar. Or from their special showcase, it's never half off. Those are things deemed too valuable, though I don't know why because often those things sit in the case for weeks on end.

They open at 10 am today too.

I wonder which one will have the bigger crowds? :admin:

I wound up bringing a massive vehicle load of home goods and bedding to the Hospital Auxiliary Thrift Shop and they seemed super grateful. One of the volunteers was telling me how bad some of their donations are. Sad people dump their garbage there. I’m headed for dump run #3 this weekend, so believe me, I’ve tossed out anything not worth keeping.

My landlord didn’t have anyone setup to move in immediately and I explained my situation so he gave me a couple days to work with which was how I was able to do this Monday.

Good on you, they are a great cause, sad that we have to fund hospital equipment via used stuff tho.

I too have to "clear out" stuff however I am awaiting the warm up.
So, Fall?
