Depending on what you want them for, Lee Valley Tools has 3 varieties. I have the ring magnets and they work like a charm. Just have to remember to eat a bowl of Wheaties in the morning if I want to separate them.

He wanted one with 100lb strength and the Princess auto one is $14 cheaper than Lee Valley.

Don’t buy 2 and accidentally get your fingers between them

100 lbs. is still fairly small on the grande scheme of the magnet world, but they do have the ability to cause harm to humans if you were to get the wrong part of your body in between 2 of them.

Now that you've found your niche, will we not be hearing from you again?
(Oh, who is screeching for help? Sounds like it's coming from the bottom of a well.
Back to dinner.)
Sufficiently advanced incompetence is indistinguishable from malice. There’s a certain point at which ignorance becomes malice, at which there is simply no way to become THAT ignorant except deliberately and maliciously.

I would be interested as to what could be found in that tubing canal in Penticton. Also beside the pedestrian bridges and docks around Kelowna. Reminds me of all those old codgers with metal detectors on the beaches.Lady tehMa wrote:Would be neat to see what you end up fishing out of wells :)

I just LOVE "simpleton science" !!oldtrucker wrote:I hooked a bunch of these rare earth magnets together ( I'll call them that because I can't spell neodymium), and attached them to the 100 lb magnet (from Princess Auto) with a 20ft rope tied on...It's just ridiculous…I have a old fridge outside I was dragging around with it. Re: Magnets
I've known a few people who take their kids metal fishing in some of the local lakes.
Magnets in the stead of hooks.
They catch all kinds of stuff, lures, knives, reels, sometimes things too heavy to retrieve.
Then out comes the fins and goggles if their not out too deep.
A 3.5 Johnson is a good catch.
If oldtrucker falls in a well, I guess it'll mean a switch to bottled water.

Looking forward to hearing about what you find! I'm fascinated by this type of stuff.oldtrucker wrote:That hole is being filled in this week as are a few others.LTD wrote:who has uncovered 25 foot deep wells on their property thats not very smart
That's why I'm in a hurry to get anything of interest out of them.
There are lots of things that remain to be discovered here. Probably more uncovered old wells that are partially filled in with debris that I have yet to find. By what I have found so far, I think this place has been occupied for quite some time.1900 ish. Also there is a chain embedded in a big tree stump with 120 years of growth rings covering it.
I should add that if anyone is going to use neodymium magnets...they are very delicate and brittle, they shatter very easily.
Yes I found this out the hard way.
My folks have a neighbour who found an old well next to his house, which was built in 1843. He uncovered some interesting things around his property and hidden in the walls of his home.
