Dry rot Sill, replacing
https://extremehowto.com/replace-a-rotten-sill-plate/
This has become my cross to bear this year.
A rotten out sill.
The sheath of the outbuilding is holding up.
The trees I cut down? Their roots grew right into the wooden sill of the back building. The more I dig out huge roots, the more damage I find. It's not a repair job and hasn't been for a long time.
Therefore, I need a referral for who is the best to do a foundation repair? OR demolition of an old building that had its day.
If I repair the foundation however, my dream of making that building into sometihing like a Summer bedroom might come true.

Regardless of who "wins" an election, they always are up against a Silent Elite. Do you believe the extreme poor who voted for Trump ever thought their non-profit support would be slashed right out from under them?

Once you have that dry rot repaired, could you send your repair person to Victoria to fix the dry rot within the government.Queen K wrote: https://extremehowto.com/replace-a-rotten-sill-plate/

I don't give a damn whether people/posters like me or dislike me, I'm not on earth to win any popularity contests.
It appears US voters hated Woke more than they hated Trump.

Unlike DIY reno shows on TV, old buildings can be an expensive challenge to return to use. Sometimes it is better to tear down and start over. Is the rest of the building up to code?

Good question Nailbender, I will be consulting on the viability of bringing it up to code instead of disposing of it. Disposal fees for a building costs more than the tear down is worth. Bringing it up to code however ensures it stays on the original property line as grandfathered in, instead of bringing a new building five feet in. It's a large building, not a small shed. That may work in my favour to turn it into a Spring/Summer/Fall bedroom and if I add electric heat, Winter.

Re the highly popular PBS TV show, 'This Old House'... I'll bet the name used by most people across North America for the ancient, run-down, sagging, rotting, dwellings they are trying to fix up, is... "This G*d Da*med Old House'
