Representation agreement?

Post by Bsuds »

Does anyone here have experience with a representation agreement for a deceased person that has no will?

ie: how to get one and costs etc?

There is little or no value in the estate but maybe a small tax refund. The govt will not send that to me without the above agreement in place.

Does reading any of this help? I would assume there is a lawyer fee involved.

That seems to me more before the fact. My question is about after death with no agreement in place.

Thanks for the link though. I have done some searches but nothing specific come up as to how to go about getting one after death has occurred.

You'll have to apply to the courts to be assigned a grant of administration in order to handle the estate. If successful, the person who is named as administrator is legally able to distribute the estate.
