Recommend Lawyer for Will

Post by Barstool08 »

Looking for a lawyer for a will, power of attorney, etc. What to expect for cost? Any recent recommendations?

Thanks!

Brendon Rothwell Notary Public
I don't remember the cost as I had my will and power of attorney done 8 years ago, but it was reasonable.
Very nice gentleman.

ETA:
Found my invoice: $550. plus tax = $616.
That was for both a will and power of attorney.
That was 8 years ago though.
Inflation :D

About $1,000 depending on complexity.

Where are you? In Penticton if the will is not complicated, ie no kids from blended marriages then Greg Litwin.
Lawyer- Neil Wyper.

There must not be many good will and estate lawyers in Kelowna.

I was expecting a ton of responses….

Anybody else have a good lawyer for wills?

Yes and that's been myself as well.

Unfortunately, my life is getting too complicated for a do-it-yourself will.

It's not that hard or complicated to do. It could have been done in the same time that you have spent on this forum.

Register your will. Its cheap to do, and enables it to be located come the time.
If nobody can readily find it after your demise, its the same as not having one.

A Public Notary will do that for you. Leave a copy with the executioner that was named in the will.

Easy peazy.

You may mean notary public and executor.

In his case it might just be an executioner...
Sadly my Wife recently passed away so I purchased a bottle of 20 year old scotch and poured it on her grave.

I did filter it through my Kidneys first.

Yea, huh. I wouldnt advise a client to leave a copy with an executor either.
But, you get what you get when you seek free legal advice on an internet forum. Theres plenty of evidence of that just in the preceeding responses.
