I posted this on the Peachland News website and thought others would read it even if you are not politically connected to anyone.

THE MAN IN THE ARENA

It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood; who strives valiantly; who errs, who comes short again and again, because there is no effort without error and shortcoming; but who does actually strive to do the deeds; who knows great enthusiasms, the great devotions; who spends himself in a worthy cause; who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement, and who at the worst, if he fails, at least fails while daring greatly, so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who neither know victory nor defeat. I wish people could get over the I quit in disgust.

Why should we get over it? It was your choice of action! You are the one that should accept our feelings and live with it!
By saying this, it still shows your complete lack of respect for the people of Peachland.

Ernie, I could almost have forgiven you for quitting on your responsibility to us, but the whole 'calling us[Peachlanders] all idiots' thing in the paper is indelibly etched into my memory. Who's the idiot?

My last response to you born again. I wonder if you can in good conscience, especially with your pseudonym, interpret what I said in my letter and spit it out as venomously as you have. You should be the one asking for forgiveness and not from me.

There you go again Ernie. You will not gain any votes that way. You are the one that choose to run, and you are the one that choose to quit. You are also the one that choose to write that nasty letter to all of Peachland. Now you are the one that has to live with the backlash.

Mr Hurd,

It is not a question of why you quit. The reason you will never find yourself representing the people of Peachland again is because you quit! This will follow you around for the rest of your days in that community and beyond.
Spelling? Grammar? Dilligaf? Mmmmmmmm...Turkey water.

Yes I will admit you are probably right. I thought people would be more forgiving especially with the things I accomplished in the community over the years. It is worth the effort.

This quote is very important to me in general: It is better to have tried and failed then to not have tried at all.

You stepped on a lot of people to do your good things. I wish you would stop trying to sound so stoic with your quotes. Keep in mind, you did not try and fail, you tried and quit. There's a big difference. May I offer you a quote from 1,000 voices: "I want my ten dollars back!"

Just think, if you quit and removed yourself from the vote now, it would be in good character for you. You know, consistent.
