I failed to see the benefit for you, simon, doing these polls. i asked that before, your response was traffic to your website. given the problems and issues with these informal polls, I just dont see any benefits for you, in fact i see a huge downside for you, but.....i guess you enjoy it, sooooooo knock yourself out with it....

Note: I am a Chartered Accountant bound by professional ethic in all my activities, not just accounting and audit. I can assure you I was not cheating my own polls. As a matter of fact I was deleting votes from myself because I didn't believe I was doing that well and I didn't want people to think I was manipulating result.

As a specialist in data auditing, it doesn't take me long to find patterns in data of manipulation and fraud. There is already some cheating going on by another expert in technology.

Yes, online polls are cheating prone. I am doing my best to eliminate as much cheating as possible.

I have already had a request from another organization that needs me to build them a polling site, so the idea has become profitable. How many campaigns are profitable? After the election I will turn my polling site into an ongoing issue site. If I don't get in this time, I will be that much more known in Kelowna and I may get in next time.

note: I moved the polls to http://www.okanaganpolls.ca

Meaningless? I have over 1,000 people a day visiting the site, you can't buy that kinda traffic. And yes I hate when people knock on my door, it annoys me, so I won't do it to others.

The point to this campaign was to market myself online, having my idea going viral and having other candidates direct their followers to my site... pretty cool... If I get in, it could define a new way to campaign.

You won't go doorknocking? That's it, that's it, no chance of any support going to you. I'd vote for Cal if he knocked on my door. I dislike Blanl-whatever and Craig for missing meetings but at least they're trying to connect with people.

I do not believe it is even worth checking this poll any more.

Obviously, the Four Change group are now easily manipulating it.

Believe Mr. Shaw has lost credibility and more if the poll continues.

Let's all just wait for Saturday November 19 and the final results.

Simon, I think you have been doing a great job with the polls, it is unfortunate that you had to reset them because of someone trying to manipulate them. The people against it and thinking that it is now four change manipulating things (which is ironic considering who was doing the manipulating before they were reset) are Sharon supporters... So everything was great while she was in the lead (by cheating the pole) but now that it is a less cheated pole they are upset with you! Keep going on the track you have been, you have earned my vote!

Well, the biggest cheater so far was a Sharon and Hodge supporter... so as far as I'm concerned everyone's guilty until proven innocent!

Just an obvious reminder, I am not back by Four Change, so I am not about to let them manipulate my poll.

Simon, good work limiting the Poll to one Vote per IP.

Hmmm interesting, the majority of the votes before for Charlie Hodge and Sharon were from the same IP.

The ones complaining now about the poll are just bothered they they cant manipulate the perception of Kelowna.

Having delt with a founding member of Fourchange on a professional level and knowing the way that individual operates I put nothing past this group and I would love to be a fly on the wall at their close door sessions karma or call it what you like will bite you in the butt what goes around etc !
Really dont think they are too smart trying to pull a fast one on the people of Kelowna.

That's too bad Simon. I've just spent the last two days out in the freezing cold, wind and rain knocking on doors all around my neighbourhood. The response was fantastic, and also disturbing as almost every person that opened their door to me (there weren't many that didn't, mind you) all said the same thing - that I was the first and only candidate to speak to them personally at their door.

I really enjoy knocking on doors and speaking to my neighbours, it tells them that I care, that I'm a person and that I am truly accessible to them. I do feel bad about asking them to open their doors and letting their precious heat escape through their front doors, but I was so encouraged by their support that I for one will continue to door knock until the polls (the real, official ones for that matter) are closed on Saturday.

It's not too late to change your position, and I highly recommend (or maybe I shouldn't) that you do get out and approach people on a personable level. Yes online marketing is great, but it's still too disconnected for most people to actually put a face to a name. All the best!
