Signs on the road side need to disappear!

Post by Loed »

Seriously, these things are getting out of control.

Either get rid of them completely, or put in some kind of control against them. I'd say one sign per candidate per 300-500 meters. Anything more = a substantial fine.

I couldn't agree more.
Some candidates have 5-10 signs all hooked together.

The new Mayor should make a law banning election signage of any kind.

The signs do nothing to inform the public of the candidate's policies. To vote for someone because you saw their sign or because they had the most signs is absurd. I think a handful of large signs or billboards stating what the candidate's plans are would be better than a zillion signs saying "vote for me."
They say you can't believe everything they say.

The signs have become a horrendous clutter.

I challenge each candidate to 1) NOT put them up and 2) Use this site instead.

The signs seriously distract drivers and ruin the beauty of Fall.

Time to complain to City Hall bylaw enforcement!

What do you think, issueGeorge, should candidates forego signs and use this site, but identify who they are so that folks on here know whom they are talking with? I see some of the candidates are using their own names on here, and I'm wondering if you will too, now that you're running for election.

Good luck!

An easy issue to deal with. Posting signs should be restricted to private property only. No exceptions.
$500 bucks a day for breaking the by-law for each sign. As they are now the bloody signs are disgusting!

Agree. Signs have to go. Ugly!!!! If I want to put one up on my own property that should be allowed. But the way ot has become, its too distracting and imo it does a dis-service to a candidate.

If only common sense was used by those who place them on the boulevards. My corner coming onto Glenmore has two large signs, right in the line of vision when looking left. What were you fools thinking, how could someone vote for the person who lets there sign become a safety issue.

If it was FOR SALE signs, would they be permitted to be on the roads?? Why election signs is my question?

Not real tricky to figure it out, you had to have driven there to post a 4x4 foot sign!
