Walter Gray makes it official

I am uncertain who to vote for as Mayor Sharon Shepherd, Kim Ouellette and Walter Gray are or have been friends. Here is my choice of Candidates for Council. School Board is in the url down the page.

My choices include
1. a Masters in Finance,
2.Two very active Social and Arts people,
3. a Leader in the local Regional District etc.,
4.a very smart Internet Specialist who has made it in that Business field,
5.a former Councilor and top position company Executive,
6. an excellent, highly trained Business Woman with years of social and community experience in Rutland,
7.a local Hospital executive, trained Pub.Engineer, etc.

The last almost three months have been spent in preparation for this election. What a wonderful experience. My time has been well worth the effort as I have met many unique, wonderful, dedicated folks.

Unlike 90% of you i am pro cd 21. Kelowna needs a developed downtown badly. Currently it looks like trash. This city has 200 000 people now it should look like it. A scattered skyline is not the way to go it should be concentrated downtown. If walter gray will get cd 21 built he deserves to be mayor.

How many people does Kelowna have? Can you back up that number?

As for downtown - 23-storey buildings already can be built down there. CD-21 or not. None have, yet. There's plenty in the forums to explain why.

I would fathom, however, that since you can't fact-check something as simple as the population of Kelowna (Hint - it's way less than 200,000 residents) that you won't bother to do any real research.

Ya your right the greater population is 186 000 people. keep in mind that's if you include west kelowna and lake country. The actual city is about 122 000 people.

for people who doubt this do the math.

Population of 98 000 in 2001 and 106 00 in 2006, Population has expanded since the opening of ubco, so it should be around the 120 000 mark.

I said 200 000 as it's close enough.

By trash do you mean the homeless ? Building 14 highrises will solve that problem ? So you think that anyone outside the perimeter of downtown will say on a nice weekend " let's go downtown and look at the nice highrises ". Do you know what vibrant downtown means ? You don't need concrete to build a vibrant downtown.
