Vatican conclave - to elect a new pope

Post by Thinktank »

Judging from what I've seen from my experiences of attending a church
for several years, the election of a new pope in the Vatican will have ZERO

ZERO

ZERO

ZERO to do with God, and EVERYTHING to do with money.

What do you think?

I think you should attend a different church then. You are obviously dissatisfied.

It's hard to see the Vatican as anything other than head office for just another mega corporation.

That's because it IS just another mega corporation and the selection of a new pope IS purely political and nothing to do with their version of God.

That's comforting. I was concerned that the prescription on my glasses had run out.

A friend said they should elect a woman. She would clean up the Vatican.
Trying to get spiritual nourishment from a two thousand year old book is like trying to suck milk from the breast of a woman who has been dead that long.

why not assign each cardinal a number and put it on a ball and draw one from a rotated drum? God will make sure the right number will be drawn, no? Simple, easy, divine, and faultless. It is as if even cardinals know it is all myth deep down in their hearts..

Copied the above from comments on a CBC story.
