Banning religion strikes me as the best idea.

Gets my goat that the congregations and followers don't do a whole lot more public screaming about all these abuse issues. It all gets swept under the rug and covered with a huge carpet of secrecy and denial. How can people stay loyal to an institution that does this to kids for centuries?

I think the Catholic Church has always been a refuge for gays and lesbians. The priests don't sexually abuse the little girls and the nuns don't sexually abuse the little boys, do they? So we have homosexual pedophiles.

I have nothing against gay folks but fercrissakes, don't cover it up with "religion".

And ... don't forget the "pimping priests" who sent the males of their congregations to the Nunnery if they confessed they were in danger of straying or had strayed outside the bounds of their marriages. It seemingly was okay to screw the nuns to keep the marriage vows but not your neighbour's wife.
