Re: History Channel pushing debunked Christ-Mithra theory
I am not saying this about all atheists, but the religion of scientism, rooted in the mystical teachings of Freemason Charles Darwin and Newton, is empirical based, not logic based. Early Christianity, on the other hand, was so based in logic and reason that Christianity was often referred to as Hellenized Christianity. It still is today to some degree. It is exactly the Hellenization of Christianity which helped it proliferate throughout the world and for over a thousand years. Hellenized Christianity is the foundation of Western Civilization, not empiricism.
Empiricism is the result of the Masonic takeover of Europe. And no, this is not a conspiracy, it's the historical evidence. Newtonian physics has its roots in alchemy and magic.
so the theory of relativity is magic?

The first problem with concernie's post is claiming science as a religion. It is not.
You cannot reason someone out of a position that they did not use reason to arrive at.

Empiricism itself is not science; empiricism is the belief that scientific theory is absolute in ascertaining truth. This is a belief system akin to religion. Instead of a priesthood, you have elite scientists, social engineers dictating government policy. Thus the Church and its hierarchy have been transmuted into the scientific elite and their hegemonic technocratic rule.

A B+ for using multi-syllable words but the theory is baseless.

Scientism is not science, and it certainly is a religion, stemming from 17th century enlightenment philosophy but losing momentum in the 20th with the discoveries in quantum physics, such as the theory of relativity already mentioned, but much more. Nevertheless, it seems there are many people that are unaware and continue to hold the belief that scientific materialism, which scientism bases its philosophy on, explains all real phenomena and that nothing else exists. There is mounds of scientific evidense proving this is not the case, and that's why so many scientists don't adhere to scientism anymore. Ofcourse there are the die hards being given fuel by characters such as Dawkins and Dennett, who cannot seem to look past the obsolete debate of the Bible vs science, as if that answers any new and relevant questions. The world is moving on to more exciting possibilities, accepted by science and congruent with ancient wisdom, as a 21st century paradigm emerges.

Thanks, sneak. That explains things well without sounding like an obtuse dictionary reference.

soon enough religion will be done, I say R.I.P.
with the sheer list of beliefs of what god apparently did throughout history, (from pregnancy to volcanoes, lighting to rain to formation of stars and planets), have been thoroughly debunked to the point where no-one should be willing to give credit to religion, for anything.
and let's not forget christianity is little more than a rip off of other religious texts.

concernie wrote:This is not accurate. Many Christians are quick to label non-Christians as atheists or agnostics because atheism has been the fad in the last century and has been of Christianity's most relentless opponents. Atheism is popular. It makes sense that many or most non-Christians would be atheists, or agnostics.
Calling non Christians atheists is akin to calling folks who do not play baseball, golfers.
