There is a fire on the south end of Boucherie. It's going fast and I have seen a tree candle already. Only been about 20 minutes .
Lots of homes nearby but none threatened yet.

East Boundary Road and Daimler Drive is the location.
Full Fire Dept. response along with equipment request from Peachland for tender and bush trucks.
Forest Service assistance requested. No ground crews available but fixed wing and helicopter support on the way.

Should be doing air drops any time now.
That looks like tough terrain for ground crews so I imagine they'll be dropping at the head of the fire.

Re: Fire on Mount Boucherie?
From what I gather over the scanner, you can expect a slow down caused by gawkers going past the fire. RCMP are set up at Daimler to direct emergency crews and I would expect folks living in that area will have a problem getting home. No evacuations yet.

Only road closure I could think of is Daimler and East Boundary Road
