Unbiased Media? Not in West Kelowna

Post by mystica »

A certain experienced newspaper "journalist" in West Kelowna needs to be told that it is her job to be unbiased and balanced in her reporting.

Today in the paper she did an article on the school trustee candidates and gave the incumbent trustee way more space that the other candidate got. Just not fair...each candidate deserves to be heard equally.

As far as the council and mayoral race , it's just not laughable. Talk about outright, unfair bias. The woman should be silenced during election time.

^^ I missed the article in question but Castanet has video presentations from each of the school trustee candidates:

Thanks Urbane for that info.
I know that material is out there if we want to look for it.

When a paper is delivered free of charge to homes, there is almost a responsibility to act in such a way that each candidate receives equal treatment.

I had hoped that the election campaign time "information about candidate articles" might be a little more balanced and reflect the professionalism and egalitarianism of the 'journalist'.
Sadly - not to be.

I have read up on the school trustee candidates for West Kelowna and have been impressed by both of them.
Tina has always been such a hard worker in every area that she has entered into. A fantastic parent who has truly invested her time and energy for the benefit of her own and countless other children.
Having had the opportunity to work with committees that Tina was a part of, I can honestly say that this Lady is dynamite!

Good Luck Tina
