i am sure is it just a "coincidence" that this development was

"to accelerate the construction of South Perimeter Road from Gordon Drive to Stewart Road West approximately 10 years ahead of schedule,”

nothing to see here....

wink wink

The guys who bought this council are going to recoup their investments in months, not years. Savvy!

They may not have years, or that is what they perceive.

I like this quote from the article

“Council has asked staff to engage the community to hear firsthand if this is acceptable.”

A DAY IN COLIN'S LIFE 4 YEARS AGO:

Wife: Colin....for god's sake get up already!

Colin: uhhhh.....what time is it?

Wife: It's 1 in the afternoon.........GET UP!

Colin: Yah....whatever.

Wife: How about trying to sell a house today........that is what your latest job entails, is it not?

Colin: Get off my back will ya!

Wife: I'll make it real simple for you.......sell something and your family eats.

Colin: To himself......"why can't I win a lottery or something.......this working is such a drag.........should have tried to get my education completed......that might have helped........nahhhhhh.......an education only means I'd still have to find a job"..........GOD, LIFE IS SO UNFAIR!

Wife: What are you complaining about now!

Colin: Nothing.

Colin at his 2 PM breakfast while working on his skateboard is debating the pro's of welfare......."it would be like a pension when I'm in my 30's........HOW DO I GET IN ON THIS".

AND THAT FOLKS IS HOW COLIN DECIDED ON WHAT I HOPE IS A SHORT POLITICAL CAREER.

~The First Council Meeting~

His Worship: (Bangs gavel) OK. Let’s vote on this totally cool proposal thingy from this nice developer and his lawyer! (His Worship gives thumbs up to developer and lawyer.)

Council: Aye! Aye! Aye! Aye! Aye! Aye! Aye!

Council: Nay!

HW: Stuff it, Charlie!

HW: OK, it totally passes! (Bangs gavel)

HW: Gee willikers, Mr. Friesen, this is totally cooler and way easier than selling houses!

Entertaining narrative but overly harsh and presupposing.

Which Friesen are you talking about?

You have no idea how excited I am for this project. Going down Gordon to work is a traffic nightmare currently, as have have to go through 2 busy school zones. This will help alleviate tons of traffic pressure on the area. Not sure what this has to do with Colin though.

Gordon is far, far, far from the worst traffic nightmare in Kelowna, and most of the nightmare will end when Lakeshore opens in a few weeks.
