The messes as stated above are the weeds, rats, garbage and mounds of dirt on these sites. Why has the Basran/Gray council not ordered the owners of these sites to clean them up?
Lucaya - Plans for a 21-storey, luxury-oriented highrise on Sunset Drive were abandoned when the recession began in 2008. A partially-completed, often-graffitied underground garage gives bleak testament to the failed dream.
The site was bought by Richmond-based Jingon International Development in 2012 for $3.8 million in a court-ordered sale. Last Friday, the company sent its architect and engineer up to Kelowna to meet with city staff about ways to revive the project.
The company is still interested in a tower of about that height, city planner Ryan Smith says, but the suites would be smaller. The company will engage in market research to test potential demand.

And Wally's comment is just plain condescending!
And the article you are quoting clearly states the developer will pay full costs.....at a savings of $1 million to the city....pretty condescending of you to ignore that.

No you didn't say that. Go back and look at what you said, the link you provided, and your present mayor comment.
So, things should be set in stone......but only unless a resident thinks new land should be purchased instead of using an alignment that has been in place for decades. But no, someone saving the city a million bucks should be shooed away. Good one!
Your inconsistency is staggering. Expected, nonetheless.
And of course, there are never replies from your little cohort of conspiracy theorists whenever they are called out to explain their "estate planning" comments or naming unassociated people for melodrama......what's up with you people?
The venom gets thrown out and is never explained.
Take responsibility for your actions, at least.

Basran will need the rose coloured glasses.
