Why do we refer to God as male?

Is there a god? What is the meaning of life?

God created "man in this own image, then the LORD God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man.
Seems woman is some sort of genetic experiment, I've often thought God didn't get that experiment just quite right. LOL

God also said women are not allowed to preach in church
and should remain silent.

The whole Virgin Mary mother of god myth was stolen from the Greek goddess Gaia.

Well it's better than being a pedophile and incest. And she is your god?

Gaia took as her husband Uranus, who was also her son

Disgusted with life and convinced it had no meaning, Doug was determined to experience life with reckless abandon. He turned to drugs, committed crimes, and spent time in jail, while also living on high adventure from stormy seas to blistering deserts. But years later, a remote cave high in the mountains above Palm Springs became his home. And even though his father owned a yacht, a jet, and a Rolls-Royce, Doug ended up scavenging for food in garbage bins.

If that's the pastor Doug, then yeah, he would be be clueless about anything he talks about.

Because that whole story about his father being a billionaire and him scavenging for food - is phony.

I guess you are talking about the "people of the desert" commune that used to exist somewhere near the upper end of the cable car ride,
They were strong into acid, peyote & pot.
We're lost but we're making good time.

Yah love hearing your opinion, that is what these forums are about. Sorry if I offended with my comment!

Why would you call the biblical God a "narcissistic psychopath"?

Well if God 'created man in his own image' he sure didn't get that right either! ;)

God thought Adam was lonely.

So one day He spoke to Adam and said, “Give me your right arm and I will create a woman companion for you.
She will be beautiful, submissive and subservient to any and all your desires”

“Hmmm” thought Adam. “What do You think You could do with a rib?”

annexi wrote:There have been a couple of responses like yours, essentially saying we refer to God as male because the bible says so. Who wrote the bible? Men. Men operating from a world view that regarded woman as fallen creatures, weak, inferior, property, etc. For this reason I'm not taking the word of a book written by men as the gospel truth no questions asked.

The whole feminine aspect of spirituality is totally given back burner status in the bible. That can't be right in a properly balanced worldview and God view. There has got to be more to the story of what God is.

If he existed, I would believe that God is a man. You either accept what is written, or you don't. That's faith.

Feminism can't seep itself into everything.
Come quickly Jesus, we're barely holding on.
