...it would be interesting to compare areas worst hit by mountain pine beetle with these figures...some of the worst hit areas in BC are around Prince George...

The hardest hit areas of mountain pine beetle were the western half of the Cariboo fire area, Southwest Prince George fire area, and the southeastern section of the Northwest fire area. Not coincidentally most of the largest fires have been in those areas.

The Wadin Creek fire in northern BC has grown to 38,000 hectares.
