The rain didn't help much I guess:

"A wildfire near Lytton has grown to 1,500 hectares as of this morning, mainly due to controlled burn-offs of potential fuel on the forest floor by fire crews.

Sixty firefighters and four helicopters are working to contain the blaze, along with an incident management team that has set up a command post in the area.

A cold front was expected to move in this morning, which may cause erratic winds, according to Melissa Klassen, fire information officer with the the B.C. Wildlife Management Branch. These winds are expected to be similar in strength to Thursday's, gusting from 60 to 80 km/h.

The Lytton First Nation has ordered 10 properties to be evacuated, and residents in another 60 to 65 homes are on evacuation alert.

Fire information officer Melissa Klassen of says reports of a burning structure have yet to be confirmed.

A small amount of rain fell in the area this morning, though Klassen says a significant amount of precipitation is needed to help crews fighting the blaze.

I was going by what the fire information officer said.

There will be a warming trend in Lytton over the next 4 days starting tomorrow. It will likely take a while to contain this fire due to the steep terrain.

Fridays rain seems to be wearing off and the wind is causing fire behavior to increase slightly.

There's a flare up on that ridge but it appears to be within the perimeter.

According to the news releases on the wildfire management branch page + the wmb facebook page they are conducting burn off operations of the fire when conditions permit.

I don't think they'd do a burn off at night, there'd be no air support if things got out of hand and it would be too dangerous for firefighters to be out on the steep slopes in the dark.
